This is a set of 117 color pin-up art pics by George Petty. Why Petty? Because he was born in Abbeville, Louisiana. (note: the following sentence is best read in a stereotypical southern gentlemen voice) And as a proud resident of the great state of Louisiana, it is my honor, nay, my duty to see that this great man's work continues to be placed before the public anyway I can.

Since these are art works, I left them in color. I did crop a few, but most have been resized with padding added either top and bottom or on the sides, which allowed me to keep the whole girl in the picture. Some do feature naked backsides, but that's all. Most are actually post-war, while the rest are pre-war or during.

These are compatible with the A Girl In Every Port program. Thumbnail file included.

NOTE: The thumbnail file now includes the image name. I went back and redid my previous three CDPs to this type of thumbnail too, and replaced the files on Filefront. If you want to have the new thumbnails, you'll need to download the updated file. If you don't need it, you don't have to download them as the images themselves haven't changed.

for the fine artwork. My Captain'sGirls folder is getting well populated. Almost makes me want to go back to my desk every 10 minutes to see who's there. Then go spend a while looking at the beautiful scenery that Leo and Seeadler and Kriller have created and then head back to the desk.

Now, what was I supposed to be doing with my submarine anyway?

Seriously, thanks for the pix.

If anyone out there is interested in saving Fred the trouble of putting together those thumbnail views, go here http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=121019&highlight=thumbnails . It's a nice little system improvement that lets you view .tga files in thumbnail view in Windows explorer. It also lets you see thumbnails of many other formats (including .dds).

Now, if someone can do a mod that lets me listen to the radio while I'm sitting at my desk, I'm all set!:arrgh!:

Actually it isn't a hassle anymore. I was making them by hand with my Paint Shop Pro 10, but on CDP 4 I found out my freeware Irfanview program has a contact sheet maker. And it automatically includes the filenames. All I have to do is add the text at the top. Much faster and easier now. :sunny:
