Ive been wondering for a while now.....whenever im DCed, I tend to go flank and change course/depth untill the last one detonates. From what ive been reading on this forum, ive gotten the idea that destroyer hydrophone performance will be decreased whenever DCs are detonating (for about 15 secs after detonation, after which one should go back to ahead slow/silent running). Im using GWX 1.03. Any answers would be most helpful :)
Have a nice day :)

It works for me :D
Thanks.....its just that i seem to remember a post from Lehmann stating that DD hydrophone performance wasnt decreased by detonation of DCs, which would make highspeed evasion runs somewhat futile. Furthermore, from my days of playing 688(i) the manual stated that if any kind of ordnance was to go off underwater, there would be a window of a couple of minutes to go to flank and evade....therefore, I can only assume that the same would apply to GWX but I have yet to verify this.
Have a nice day :)
A lot depends on how many escorts there are hunting you. Whilst the one dropping its eggs goes deaf in its baffles as it passes over you it's mate can be sitting there painting you with sound even though there is enough ambient noise from DC's to mask your movements. Unfortunately SHIII is not RL
Do some testing with the noise meter on and see when you go red to get an idea of what is going on. You may be surprised at the results!
