Finally got some free time, so I decided to play SH3 and the goddamn game crashes within 10 minutes into the patrol.:damn:
:nope: ...
I let my anger cool for an hour and start the game again and it $!%&king crashes again!!! :damn: When things like this happen I just want to crack the disk and ask for my money back. It used to happen occasionally, but now it just reached the roof of my BS tolerance level. Any ideas what might be causing this? I think I have a decent computer (1gig ram) but I can't tell you more than that because I don't know jack about computers.

do you remember how you saved last or is this a new patrol?
also, what mods are you running?

I only had trouble like that after updating to GWX... in which case it wasn't the game or GWX's fault. After 10 mins my graphics cards started overheating and my PC, gasping for air, caused the game to CTD. Tossed my piddley little case fan and installed two 130MM fans (1 right on the graphics cards) and solved my problems.

Try taking off the side panel and blow the dust off all the heat sinks. Run the game with the side panel off and if it crashes again see if you're GPU is ouchey hot.

My thoughts exactly. Just use the vacuum cleaner on the heat sinks and fans, but be careful, especially with loose parts. Then leave it open.

Do you have an Nvidia graphics card? If so try the latest driver from their website.

http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

After eight months of game crashes whereby I knew it was the graphics driver, Nvidia finally fixed it :damn:

Dont know if this will be of any help for you :hmm:

Try the Nview application (only for gforce cards), it will tell you wat temp your crd is!
