Gentlemen,

are there many of you still around? I'm considering designing a Cold war camapign using some of the older boats in SCX. I'll probably do it anyway for my own interest, but I'm happy to make it available if there are sufficient drivers left in SC.

Im just lining up to start playing SCXII for the first time ever but
due to an issue with my main sh3 mod I have to put this debut
off a week or so

Ive only ever played unpatched vanilla SC before but did a complete
career twice.

I am still new to this game, but I would love to give it a try.

I have the basic game with SCXII installed.

My plan is to place it mid to late 1970s, using playable boats such as November, Permits, Sturgeons, and Swiftsures. Might not be quite so easy to survive as with the more modern boats.

A campaign during this time frame (Cold War 70's) would be great. I'd love to play a campaign based on this era. Don't forget to include some Tango's, early Victor's, and Foxtrots along with the November and Swiftsures. Too bad SCX didn't include Seawolf (the old one :) ), Halibut, and Nautilus. Those legacy boats rock.

And yes, count me in as one of the interested parties in your campaign.

My essential idea is that I want to take advantage of the large range of SCX boats available. So the campaign, at least initially, will not be many missions deep for any particular boat, but will offer the use of several platforms. In other words, there will probably be four boats to play, with about four missions each.

The advantage of this approach is that the campaign should be released faster, and extra mission can then be added for each platform as time goes on. First will be the Alpha, then probably Permit, November, and possibly a bit of surprise further down the line.

Great - Alpha rulezz  Would be great if you'll make a mission in which player could win using high speed and maneuvering abilities of this "Underwater TIE Fighter" Dogfight underwater... I'm longing for your campaign! :)

The first two Alpha missions (of four) are now complete. I'll test them both later tonight. If things go well I would anticipate an initial release by the end of next week.

This sounds like a good approach. This seems similar to the current DW campaign. And I like that. If I get you right,:hmm: you can play the same mission from another point of view. So I can play as an Alfa Class trying to sink a high value surface unit, and play the same mission later as one of the American or British defenders? Is this whaty you have in mind? Anyway, looking forward to playing in the Alfa Class again.

That's the idea. Mission three now complete. Will probably finish mission four tonight and test the lot tomorrow. If all goes well you could have it tomorrow evening.
