okay, my computer is whacked, its gone.

but let me tell you whats going on before you take my word for it.
alright, i just put in JSGME, and im happy, no more manual junk for the hammer...

but, this happened with all the manual mods i put in, including a skin and the really cool sound sections from RUb. and a few others. i also have sh3 cmmander...

but i have this chronic problem with the computer, sometimes, when i go to surface cruise mode, it locks up and crashes to the desktop. it did this once while i was out at sea in one of my kaleuns files. and now i dont have an after patrol NN or before patrol NN. i wish to finish the patrol, but when i load it up it works fine for 3 seconds (exactly 3 seconds) and then it crashes to the desktop...:damn: and SH3 commander says im still out to sea (pun is certainly intended:doh: ), what do i do?

Does it only crash with SH3 + mods? If so then there may possibly be a confilction with one or two mods you have installed.

@ Sledgehammer - nice name, use it!

Seriously I think you will have to load a save before the patrol! then you will have to roll back SH3 Commander then disable some suspect mods & try again.
Things to note in this current patrol: What often happens when modding is that you may come across a ship that has been removed/replaced & the mis file is expecting it to be there but can't find it, so a CTD occurs, I mention this as it has been a reoccuring problem with me. Also when modding sounds/speech, if the file has been replaced with a corrupt one when it is used in game a CTD will occur.
Gives you an idea what to note in patrol just before it CTD's. Hope this helps.:yep:

As Pants pointed out, it may by "one mod to far" problem. I experienced that many times with new mods. JSGME always warns you about possible mod conflicts. So I do stick to JSGME all the time and take seriously all warnings. After I was forced to reload all my SH3 instalations few times I stopped to incorporate new mods manually. JSGME way is safer and, as I' ve written before, saves you a lot of trouble :yep: .
Reece's way to eliminate your problem is worth trying. I did that many times too. Recently, using this method I've eliminated some problems with game crushing to dektop after hitting "any key" on the start of my patrol (in the harbour). I had to delete some new SH4 ships files to run game smoothly again:-? .
And something else..... . Ones I had a lot of problems with my computer which kept on awarding me with complete system shotdown after I've managed to torpedo any kind of SH 3 ship. When ships blew up my computer was doing the same. Just black screen and complete silence. The clue was - missing sound codecs and sound card drivers due to my earlier Windows XP reinstall and motherboard crush .
