i would like to see some screenshots of seal teams . Can they leave the zodiac and land?
then i would like so see some screenshots of modded subs 688 and more and perhaps some screenshot of dutch subs in dw if there are any

I will have some more requests sooner thats all for now.

No new playables can be made. It is forbidden by SCS.

Easy solution for all of your wishes ... buy the game. You can actually see those things in action ... lot better then a screenshot. Aside from that, there is a demo out already where you can check out the Kilo and the Helo up close.

Oh comeon its not that hard to post a couple of screenshots is it ? I mean if this forum had a screenshot thread i would not be asking for screenies

Is it so difficult to download and install the demo?

As for your initial questions ... you can send of SpecOps teams on Rubber Rafts but as far as I remember they only drive up on land and the target goes boom ... but I dont think they are actually modelled as leaving the raft and walk up to the target. I might be wrong tho ... long time since I have been deploying a SpecOps Team.

You are not wrong. It's exactly as you mentioned.

Here's a screenshot of how most of my Dangerous Waters missions end.:D

Don't worry. My crew has invested in large quantities of water wings with little yellow duckies on them (The duckies make them float better).:yep:

Ah ... thats how I like my subs ... well done on the outside and raw and broken on the inside. But then, I prefer playing the P-3 and the helo ... :|\\

Oh.. so you're one of THOSE guys who I can't ever get the opportunity to shoot at ! :nope:
If you ever see a bunch of guys floating on the waves with little ducky print water wings, make sure you radio my commanding officer so he can send the rescue squad. Tell him the "Ducky Brigade" lost another ship. He'll know what you're talking about.
(I hate to admit it, but as much as I know what I'm doing in Dangerous Waters, I can clearly admit.. a lot of times.... I'm the Bernard of Dangerous Waters.)

Will do ... and if at all possible I will drop some life rafts ... its a lot cozier to sit in them then hold hands in the cold ocean i'd say.

Actually oscar19681, you clearly stated in the Silent Hunter forums that you would not be buying DW mostly because of its outdated to say the least graphics. So I wonder why you insist on this issue, to me it seems you have already made up your mind. ;)

You cleary misunderstood . I posted this in the thread regarding if sh-5 would be set in the cold war. If it turns out that it will be then offcourse i would wait for sh-5 insted of buying dw . Yes the grafics are somewhat outdated but many people think so but that doesnt mean it cant be interesting to play!

I'm sorry for having misunderstood you then.
One thing though, if you plan on playing this game on an nvidia card post 6800 you'll have a lot of problems.
The new nvidia cards don't handle well 16 bit graphics, no problem for ati cards though.
But if you're willing to ignore the poor graphics department you'll find a gem of a game. And more so if you play regularly in multiplayer. :yep:

My 7900 card runs DW in 1280x1024 just fine. :yep:

Mine too for that matter. :D
What I'm saying is different, that is that post 6800 nvidia cards don't use dithering on 16 bit graphics whereas ati cards do use it. It means the the graphical quality is better with ati card than with new generation nvidia cards. An believe me it was a shock when i passed from an ati x800gto to an nvida 7900gs. I even opened up a thread in this section discussing the problem, and Dr.Sid using a new generation nvida card had the same exact problems.
These are not gameplay problems, only an inferior graphical display.

I certainly don't consider Dangerous Water's graphics poor at all ! I don't know what you're talking about ! I mean, yeah.. it's not as breathtaking, cinematic or stunning in appearance as Silent Hunter III or IV, but usually you're looking at very well rendered stations within the platforms most of the time anyway. This isn't a cinematic adventure game like SHIII or IV and isn't meant to be. This is more of a hardcore sim than an adventure game. I don't find the graphics bad for this game in any way.
Besides, the external views graphics look equal to or better than most of the videos I've seen of real military naval simulators in action.

Dangerous Waters is one of my favorite games and will not be leaving my hard drive for a LONG time (Or until Sonalysts tops it somehow).

Why Oh Why do I get misunderstood every time I talk about graphics ? :damn:
Let me put the record straight, I find the graphics of the 2d panels absolutely fine, and even the 3d models are ok.
What I criticise is the lack of 32 bit support, and the lack of Anti aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering. Thats all. Including support for 32bit color, AA and AF wouldn't change the 2d panels, wouldn't change the models in fact it wouldn't change anything but and this is a great BUT it would improve tremendously the way things are rendered. It means that the models would not have jaggies everywhere, it means the when you look at the ocean you wounld't see a checkerboard.
And AA and AF are almost cost free filters since the days of the radeon 9700.

Dangerous Waters has never left my hard drive since April 2005.
Except when I changed computer but that was a 2 week transition so doesn't count. :D

Well, graphics of 3D objects are relatively poor if compared to the current standards. It's a 2 y.o. game, so there is no shame at all in that.

But there are still acceptable anyway, especially since outside views isn't what we focuss on when we play this game.

Wrong, I like to look at my 688i or my Akula II when stalking other submarines.
Or look at the ocean from time to time on the frigate bridge. :p

OK, I like to see my sub as well :)

But I prefer to spend most of my time in the sonar position, because I'm afraind to miss something (especially since I mostly play with Akula, and have no waterfall display).

The Akula II, my favorite submarine.
Even if it doesn't possess a waterfall display with a history I find that the situational awareness is much better with the russian sonar than the american one.
Its even more true when there are a lot of contacts and shooting going on.

When there are many contacts, I'm equally confused both in US or Russian subs! lol

Seriously, overlapping contacts prevent to classify which contact goes where...
