Here is my XXI:

He is dressed in Modern Type XXI Skin maded by Type941.
As you can see there is no emblems, no radio loop antenna and no
water reflections.
What to do to make them all visible;) ?

Are you using GWX?
The skin, made by Type941, is not compatible with GWX. The reason you don't have reflections & the RDF Loop is because you have broken it by enabling that skin.
You will never have a fully functioning XXI while using skins that are not GWX compatible, you are enabling a DAT file that is not designed to be used with GWX.

Thats only correct if you overwrite the dat files. This is NOT neccesary. First, extract the TGA's of the modded skin with Chessmaster 10 Dat textures extractor, and then, repack them into the GWX files. Here is the link to Chessmaster 10 Dat textures extractor, for the second time today... :know:

Go to Load a chess set, select the dat file of the sub you wish to modify, click on replace textures, and navigate to the folder where your TGA is stored. There should be no other files in this folder. I dont think it matters but i always used a empty folder to be sure.

My troubles with XXI were caused by installing [not in JSGME !:-?]
mod named just like that:''NSS_Uboat21''.
This mod has overwriting my GWX files without way back!!
Fine skin but no emblem-loop antenna & water reflections.
Then i was trying to install skin mods like:''Type21_ModernHull''
and ''Geheimprojekt_Typ_XXI''. Skins ok - emblem/antenna vanished..
And then i decided to post link on SUBSIM forum.

Now i have reinstalled patch GWX1.3 and XXI is ok.

you've got loads of jagged edges, get some AA on. Force it on through your gpu control panel. even if its just 2x it will make a bit difference.

There was already set 2x - now i changed to 4x and will try to see
change and will post the screen - thanx for advice;).

Yo man - i did it and i have extracted two sets of skins from modes:
''Geheimprojekt_Type_XXI'' and ''Modern_Skin_Type_XXI'' ... but i have encountered a problem with those free tga's...After enabling
them in JSGME they don't load...So i try to rename them like in other
mod skins and now it looks like that:
My pathway in JSGME:
GeheimprojektTypXXI - extracted\data\Textures\TNormal\tex
and names of tga's:
conning_stuff
NSS_Uboat21_Deck
NSS_Uboat21_Hull
NSS_Uboat21_UFlak
After starting the game loaded is only...conning_stuff - the rest of my
XXI is dressed in stock GWX grey colours...
Did i missed something? And maybe i was write wrong names - i suppose
that this is a reason. But i don't know what names to write...
I checked skin maded by Fubar - skin is already in tga's:
Typ 21_20mm_UFlak
Typ 21_Deck
Typ 21_Hull
conning_stuff
- those names are writed automatically after unpacking by SH3Unpacker_build143 which i used...but that named TGA's are not working on Geheimprojekt_type_XXI. I don't checked Modernskin...
Could someone resolve this small pro?
What are the correct names for tga's in skin type XXI?

I think Fubar made a XXI-skin that is compatible with GWX (probably the one used by GWX)...maybe he can help.

Lutzow, my friend, may I help you out in some way with your current problem? The extracted skins you have must have the same name as the component replacing in the DAT file (which sounds like the hull skin) and the ID of the original 'skin' along with the parent ID of the original 'skin'. I don't use tools or such to change skins, I cut them out with my hex editor and paste in new ones with the hex editor changing IDs as necessary.

The tga files need to be repacked into the DAT file for them to be used in game.;) It will not work through the textures folder.
Open the Type 21 dat file with Pack3D and expand the Textures folder, shown in the left window. Highlight the TGA and then choose IMPORT from the right hand side, then direct it to your extracted TGA file, click OK. You have just imported the new texture into the DAT file. Wash, Rinse & Repeat.
WORK FROM A COPY! MAKE SURE THE TGA FILES HAVE THE SAME NAMES!

Then open the copied DAT with Pack3D and follow my instructions earlier.

with a PACK 3D [from your FF site] it's just...HANG'ON and i must turn it off from Windows panel controls...
Then i'm trying to do the same operation with SH3 Unpacker - but there is
only message about permission needed to continue...
It seems to be protected by Fubar or GWX team...
What to do now?:-?

I think you need to update Java. Pack3d uses it. Also try using version 2.

Yo Dan - it don't worx - my new istalled Java version: jre1.6.0_01.
Now Pack 3D is working ok but he doesn't unpacking the DAT file...
I'm leaving now this work - maybe there is someone more talented than me...Shame.:oops:

Filename:''3xXXIskin-extracted'' - and there are 3x skin after extracting
from orginal files...Orginal files you can probably find at Terrapin site -UBRSDLC.
