I've been tinkering with modding for a good long while in different games but today i started tinkering with giveing the wood in my sub a deep dark red wood insted of the standerd. Now it's going well i have all the wood trim in the boat a nice dark red wood but i'm haveing problems with the radio room. i'm using the open IX sub mod and basically i'm wondering what files govern the wood in the radio room? i've gone through every texture file i can find and changed them but most of the radio room remains the same.

Hi wolf,

the tga files are implemented in 'NSS_Uboat9_CR.dat' in data\Interior\NSS_Uboat9 directory. You have to extract them [e.g. with SH3_Unpacker or Pack3D] before editing.

Thank you i've done the proper modifications and am repacking as we speak, hopefully it will work well.


Well whenever i try to repack with sh3 unpacker it tells me that theres a dat field length error..

Don't try repacking with SH3Unpacker, use Pack3D.

Load the DAT, browse to the TGA, highlight it and choose Import, then navigate to your edited version and click OK.

Or, if you just want to view your changes, place the TGA files in the Textures folder. The game will read them and it's less of a PITA than packing DATs.

Well whenever i try to repack with sh3 unpacker it tells me that theres a dat field length error.. This happens sometimes when .tga file size has been changed...Try this one:

When i open it with pack 3D there seem to be multiple versions of the same files i need to replace. Do i replace them all?

Click on export and you will get a 3d folder
You can open up the TGAs in there and see which one you want to import

so far i've tried twice, and come So Close to succsesse but yet there are problems
