I think two things could be the cause:
First, this is the way to object looks. Maybe you duplicated it accidentally in your 3D-programm and exported both together. Therefor Wings has the option "Export selected", I aleways use, because such things happens :)
Second, You imported your .obj twice with Pack3d. Looks like you replaced the main "shipname.obj" and additionally something from the superstructure.
The weird look is caused by the old texture. If you made a new texture that fits your uvmap from your 3D-model, it has also be imported by Pack3d.

Thanks Pontius, I will try to fix it though Wings, and see if I can't fix the model. I'll work on the skin later.
gimpy117- I'm trying to make one of those really old steam and sail ships.

ah yes i see,
like this....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Great_Eastern
or even closer

of course, the great eastern had side wheels, but it also had a screw
i think it's possible to have one in the 30's, because some were made in the early 1900's
maybe sails would be sweet

There, see?
This is what I'm working on:

I finally got everything into place, and I need to work on the deck skinning. And for some reason, the ship won't bob in the water or move. Can some one help me with that? Also, the flag won't go onto the mast like it should. you can't see it in the picture, but it is under the smoke stack. how can I fix that?

yeah, make it reeeeaaaaallly rusty and stuff (with wood masts), because by the 40's it's not exactly a new ship, frankly, it's old, heck, make her damage file weak to account for the age of the vessel (ships weaken over time)
and can you edit models?
if so look at the stern/prow of the second link i posted (above), i think making these on the model would make it look more like and old school one and less like a costal merchant.

At a rough guess the ship doesnt move as the sim cfg isnt referenced by the model anymore
Did you rename the props and rudder in the ships dat ?
If so the sim has no reference to them
The flag node can be moved up and onto a mast using Pack3d or hexediting

yes, that is something I have a problem with, all i edited was the 3d stuff. I never renamed any of the 3d objects in the dat. they are there, but they don't so anything. The ship does not move, or bob in the water. What went wrong? All I edited was the 3d look of things.
and I will look at where the flag node is, I didn't know it was a node that determined that. Thanks BBW, I will look at that stuff tonight.
