Genedige Karleun's,

I've been trying to find a couple of mods but having no joy. Any ideas (perhaps even links) for the following? To revert colours on maps to show ships locations as blue, red or green (warship, enemy or neutral as in the unpatched SHIII) instead of just black for all (as in GWX mods)?
I've seen mention of realistic diesel exhaust smoke but cannot find any download, any ideas?

Help appreciated.

VIIc: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=613672&postcount=17

VIIb: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=613111&postcount=92

for SH3 1.4b:

VIIc: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=613439&postcount=1

VIIb: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=613115&postcount=1

other subs for both versions still in the works.

Question;

When you download the mods from that page in your sig...the files come in as a 7Z File....

My question being what program do you use to open and access them?

I tried Winzip...but it didnt seem to work.

For some reason..folks here love this:

http://www.7-zip.org/

That's what you need to open .7z-files.

If you are a long-term WinZip user, I recommend giving IZArc a try. It's free, and its interface is pretty much a copy of WinZip's. Indeed, with IZArc installed you'll no longer even need WinZip.

Hello again, thanks for the links to enable me to download these mods. I seem to be having a few problems though in that I can't seem to make them work.

I have been downloading on to my desk top, unzipping the files there and then moving the new unzipped folder into my Ubisoft/SH3/Mods folder so that the JSGME enabler can enable the mods. When I run the game there seems to be no change. I have tried uninstalling SH3 Commander and then reinstalling it again after trying to run the enable in JSGME but this still does not help. I am running Vista. Any ideas?

The mods I'm trying to run are Longer Wakes, Torpedo Longer Wakes, Contact Colours (Map shows ship contacts in red, blue and green).

Make sure you are in port when enabling via JSGME, also there is a link on my sig. with an illustrated guide, check it out :yep:

You might also want to try unpacking the file directly to your mods folder instead of the desktop :arrgh!:

reallydedpoet, thanks for the advice. I have managed to get 2 out of the 3 mods working :D. The last one still evades me - Contact Colors (where the ships are portrayed on the contact map as green, red or blue). Which specific files should I be placing in my Mods folder for this to work? Can you cast any light on this for me Jimbuna?

BTW - U83 looks fab with exhaust smoke and a decent wake when surfaced :D.

I've just checked it out....unpack directly into your mods folder then enable....BTW, you also get the 'tails' back

Thanks Jimbuna, I took your advice and hey presto - there were the colours again:sunny:. I just need to be able to avoid being sunk by those 'bloede zerstoerer' (bl**dy Destroyers) now (once they get a sniff of you, they are practically impossible to shake off aren't they?).:damn:
