GWX escorts commits suicide...

I have been playing GWX for a while. And its a big improvement over vanilla.
However, during a convoyattack I went inside the convoy, and raised my periscope to take a look. I was discovered by the escorts ( of course :cry:). The escorts starts to shoot at me, and to my surprise they started blow themselves up!! Shooting themself to pieces :o. The most pathetic thing was that a escort, also ran into a merchant after he had commited harakiri, sinking the merchant! I laughed quite alot..

Question is, how could this happen? A bug? or?

Just the AI getting confused.

When an escort accidently hits a comrade, the comrade reacts in the same way as if an enemy had shot at him.
Kind of like a child lashing out at anything that hurts them. Then of course it just escalates as the all start shooting each other.

The ultimate scenario you can engineer (I have) is to surface in harbour right next to a BB and then use your deckgun on the nearest DD you can find in range. The DD's first return shot at you will inevitably hit the BB.
You then get the pleasure of watching a full on broadside from 0 meters and watching the DD go airborne.

Maybe u right. But I suspect that there is something wrong with the weapons on the escorts. Because I had another encounter with a escort. I was really close to him. I could see that he took damage from his own guns. There were no other escorts nearby. I guess if u get too close to him, his guns starts to hit his own boat.

It's not GWX; it was that way from the beginning. I think they did it to keep you from attacking friendlies or neutrals. If you do that it will make you an enemy for 24 hours. It was probably easier make it universal, and they probably didn't think of what would happen if one of them accidentally hit another one of them.

This game is complex enough that weird things happen. Enjoy the variety when it happens :D

Haha Think thats funny...watch the Airplane thats about to kill you bomb the British DD thats about to depth Charge you and make it sink Titanic Style (I got the screenshot somewhere ill get it if you gents want to see it)

i have recorded a movie where DD's actualy KILLED themselves in scapa flow :rock:

in the end i killed only 1 DD myselve. gonna look for it
