Ok, thanks for all the nominations, now it's time to vote. Never fear, even though only the top ten mod gurus will win t-shirts, you have honored them all by suggesting they be included in this poll. Thanks to Peter Dalope and Ubisoft for sponsoring the contest, now let's see who wins! :ping:

Can we throw a dart at the list?

All i can say is i like mods that make the game more fun. They all do that.:|\\

Kosh got my vote just because it's the last mod i've added and i really appreciated a "no-algae" mod finally. As a scuba diver i naturally like to watch my sub underwater.

Well, you should vote for a guy who has zero votes so far, then. If you value them all equally, help one get in the running:hmm:

If your first choice has a big lead, vote for your 2nd or 3rd choice. This isn't "winner takes all", it's top ten get a prize.

This thread is unconstitutionally violating the prohibition on cruel and unusual punishment! These modders all work together and now we pit them against one another like dogs. Who are we, Micheal Vick? :yep:

But in the spirit of coopetition and progress, let the carnage begin!!:arrgh!:

I'm offended by all the people telling who they voted for. This hurts the feelings of all who they didn't vote for (and adds the voters to a bunch of enemies lists [and while I'm on the subject, how come nobody nominated poor SeeAdler? {don't laugh - I can keep this up all day <oh yes I can>}]), and violates the spirit of the secret ballot (I'm not telling who I'm voting for [oh, no; I'm doing it again!]).

Oh, and if any of you are gullible enough to not realize I'm kidding, let me just say :p (:rotfl: [oh no!]).

I totally agree also. Trouble was, the community already gave a good indication that everyone involved in improving SH4 should recieve a t-shirt. It's the Poll thingy that buggered it up because the "ball was thrown back into our court" to pinpoint an individual.

Im sure i have used a Tedhealy mod before... anyone able to remind me what it was ^^

Surprised Lethal doesnt have a vote yet either...

This whole vote thing is pretty painful. So many great mods and many of which were made in 1.1 patch and 1.2 patch... Kinda clouds out the guys that didn't keep up with the mods. Still, there are those here who did put in unbelievable amounts of effort to bring us a great number of mods... I guess it is fair to be recognised.

When is the last day of voting?

Ducimus

Tater should rank alot higher on that list. if it wasnt for him, alot of people would be playing with the stock campaign, with unrealistic traffic.

And another thing while I'm at it, the ones that miss out should most definitely get some sort of recognition so why not issue them with a "Certificate of Appreciation" Would be a great feeling to me in my books

It was very hard to decide who to vote for when so many moders have contributed so many good things to the Subsim community for free. I’m someone who really loves eye candy and as much as I really wanted to vote for someone in that area I also understand that it is important that the game works like it should of out of the box. I went through my current list of mods in JSGME and picked out the person who provided the most “fix’s” for the game, and looking back at all the mods and fix’s he released for SH3 my vote had to go to the one and only Anvart!

I would just like to thank ALL OF YOU GUYS! for making this a better game. I would also like to thank all the guys that voted, not only for me but for all the great modders doing this work relentlessly day and night.

To be totally honest I am very humbled, and somewhat embarrassed (being a Swede that's totally normal believe me) this could have gone to any of you guys if you ask me.

Again Thanks to you all and thank you Neal and all the Subsim staff for making SS the best game/sim community on the web!

I think as holidays are almost over, i should get back in the saddle and do some modding ;)

being one of the winners makes a great Birthday Present for me and then some.

Congrat's to everyone who won and congrat's to all the moders in the comunity mentioned or not who have contributed to this comunity not just the moders but also the people who helped with sugestions and input on things that needed tweeking because all of us make up this modding comunity moders and people with requests alike.

CaptainCox and Ducimus glad you guys made the top 2 my friends!

Let me tell you a little story about me and what this game and learning to mod has done for me!

In July of 2006 I had a mild stroke that didn't effect me physicly but mentaly instead.

I had lost the ability to drive because I could no longer understand the difference between the right and wrong side of the road and I also lost all my depth perception as well and could not tell how close or how far things were from me and the car. Plus my ability to understand what I was seeing on the TV was garbled and had an extreamly hard time understanding what exactly I was watching and seeing.

Then this new version of the Silent Hunter came out and it was something I had played for many years in the past so I just had to get it. Now I was told that it was a waste of money because I had a hard time plying my old games after the stroke and sometimes not at all. But I bought it none the less and forced myself to learn how to play it. Then there were the problems with game crashes and so forth before the patches and I ended up finding this Subsim comunity and got a lot of help from people here players and moders alike. Some people took me under their wing and started to help me understand the inner workings of the game and how to change things in it.

Well to make a long story short because of this game and people helping me here I was able to rebuild my thought proceses enough to be able to drive again and understand things I watched on TV and pulled me out of a depression so bad that all I had thought about was dieing every day I woke up.

This is what this game and learning how to mod has done for me! It gave me a new life again and a purpose to live again.

And then this year when I had a heart attack several of the guys here kept in touch with PM's that my friend answered for me and gave me all the messages while I was in the hospital. Redwine, Capatain Cox, Bando, Reallydedpoet showed me that no matter what the distance is between where we all live and the fact we have never seen each other in person made no difference. They showed me the true meaning of the SubSim COMUNITY.

To the makers of this game and all here give yourselves a pat on the back because in one way or another you have made my life better than it was.

Ya I know I am a sappy guy and it's time to shut up!! LOL!

Hey I never even saw this! I would have voted for Captain Cox. Oh wait - TimeTraveller only got one vote - OUCH! That guy was God! Well, him and Captain Cox, and JScones and CCIP. I guess there was a pantheon of godlike beings. Demigods if you will, along the lines of Hercules, or perhaps Prometheus, who stole fire from the gods. Yeah, that works.

Anyway, since I was in the top ten does this mean I should have got a shirt? :D

Not that Subsim should ever owe me anything - I should be sending Neal gifts.
