View Full Version : [skin req] Conning tower emblems

Is is possible to have the emblem at the front of the conning tower (like many boats have in real life, U-25 (sharkmouth), U-552 (red and black devils) and 'normal' emblems many others had) ? Especially the sharkmouth would be pretty cool. Also, the camo pattern U-199 had (outline of a different, smaller sub painted on the sides) would be awesome too. I only have 1 little colourprofile and 1 b/w photo, but not scanned (from squadron/signal warships no.1 'UBoats in action').

Yes it is possible, but some major modifications have to be made to some files. I don't know how to do this, but I would love to be able to place my emblems at the front of the conning tower and also make then a little bigger.

I was thinking of putting the emblem on the skin itself, not using the emblems you can buy from the upgrade screen :) Any experienced skinners out there who can do that?

Tricky not sure about this as I suspect not but will check.

UPDATE - Sorry no, I tried a pic/emblem went on alright in the right area but the pic duplicated itself around the front of the turm and bits of the picture popped up else where on the turm.

There was a thread somewhere around here that Racerboy posted a way of moving and resizing the actual emblem object. This requires hex editing skills and would have to be done to each conning tower. A massive job that no-one that I've conferred with is willing to takle. If you wanted to make it compatible with GWX or another super mod you'd need to very carefully handle the editing using each super mod's conning towers as the basis for the edit.

Overall not very practical, nor is the skinning option as STEED has pointed out.

In any case, I would like to know if it's possible to modify the size of the emblem...
I mean not the size of the TGAS file,but the size of the image in the conning tower.

it can not be done unles you remap the contower sorry peeps try it my self you can do this on sh4 cos the mapping is diffrent:down: and as it gose for the size of the image emblem it can go bigger but not to big as the rim on the contower covers it up
