Hi,

For the rest of it's life UBRS DLC won't have any restrictions - even unregistered users may download as much as they want.

Because you (most of the ppl inhere) decided to drop the support for the DLC quite awhile ago I decided to stop any work in the site.

As I'm not willing to invest unpaid 30 hours per week AND to pay the bandwith bills the site will be gone soon.

Do what you can best - download until the cable is melting! :nope:

And I'm out here, too.

Bye.

I see this as a somewhat missed opportunity. I used the site initially and am always gratefull to people who provide a one stop shop for SH mods so thank Terrapin.

The only reason I stopped using the site was that I found it too confusing. I design sites in my spare time amongst other things but still couldn't fathom out how to navigate the pop up boxes etc to find what I wanted. In the end my user experience became negative so I didn't feel the inclination to return.

I'm sure I would have had I really really rteally needed a mod but I found it easier to post in this forum and just ask someone to make it available .

Please don't take this as criticism, I think it was very good of you to host all the mods produced by this community. It was an ambitious task and would have succeeded if the ergonomics of the site were improved. I believe we even had a brief exchange of views on this matter a year or so ago.

Frankly, i'm sorry to see you go and hope you change your mind and stay.

All the best...

I don't understand, you say that people dropped support but on the site it says (and I quote);

Posted by Martin Gerner Monday, 02 July 2007 Once again we've upgraded our DLC server hardware in the past days. This was necessary due to the increasing user numbers - and to ensure fast downloads in the future.

:hmm:

Sorry to see important contributors to the hobby go like this, but I am sure your efforts have been quietly appreciated by many, best of luck mate.

That and complaints about not being able to download from UBRS got to him. And I don't blame him at all. Terrapin was one of the first sites everyone went to for SH3 downloads and was the best one anywhere. You could get any free SH3 mod download you wanted for free anytime of the day with no limits like that other place.

A big thanks Terrapin for all you did for the community. I for one will miss you and UBRS. ~S!~ You did good my friend.

I would like to add my thanks as well. Job Well Done, Sir. Thank You. Without your site I would have been lost for SH3 mods.

Sadly, I too found the site to difficult to navigate later on. No matter how I tried to sign in (old password or new) it would not accept me. I felt inches away from a great treasure that I just could not get too. That in no way lessens my respect and thanks for all that you did for the community. For those who know how to get there I am certain you will be missed.

Soory to see you go Terrapin...... but alas I also had way way to many dificulties with registration, signing on, downloading over the months. :damn: Wrote three times no reply and while I support modders and would have loved to pay to assist to pay for a site that appear non-operable is not in my opinion worth it. And the boob pictures were causing my crew to either mutiny requesting to go back to France for some loving or worse my torpedo tubes were not being loaded with the proper products. :o

Well, if I had any money at all I would gladly have paid, but I didn't, so I get what I deserve.

Best of luck, T.:sunny:

Kinda went downhill after the site was hacked. Was good up 'til then.
