Hello Kaleuns,

here is the overworked Merchantpack with SH4-Ships for GWX1.03.
Now it contents the right Sil.files made by Boris.
Also it contents the Catapultship from rowi58 and a new Postship build by rowi58.
The Merchants got Weapon from the Year 1941 !

This pack is JSMG-compatible !

You have to add them once by once ! Sorry !

Installing :
Copy the extracted Folder to your Modfolder of your GWX1.03 installation and activate the Mod with JSMG.

For using this pack in other Mods you have to create your own names.cfg !

I know I'm not Madmax... but I think that I can answer your question at least partly...

They will very likely not have the sinking characteristics as the ships in GWX... though they will be subject to the global settings in the Zones.Cfg file.

So in some ways no... and in other ways yes. I think the overall effect will be alright though.

When I am in SH3/GWX and wont make e screenshot I get a black one in my SH3 dir. When I want to look at them with Saint Paint or a other program it is all black.
I wonder if you have to change something before you can make a screenshot ?

Hi Dutchie,

when you start Fraps you can chose in the settings of Fraps which key you want to use for Screens.

I Chose the 0 ( zero ) cause zero is free in german SH3.
Then you have the choice of the destination-folder for the screens and also you can chose the filetype of the screens ( BMP or JPG ).
Fraps also can show you the Framerate you got ingame.

Will the Combined Skin Pack need to be updated with the release of the new 1.04?

I doubt it. If I remember correctly the GWX moto is that there should be no mixing between SH4 and SH3

It adds new skins to the ships in the game. These skins do appear at the correct time period. That's why you need to enable it via SH3Cmdr.

However, the colors of some of the ships are different then in the screenshots at the beginning of the thread. For example, the cataplut ship is not shown in the museum in camo. Instead, it has slightly weathered grey paint.

Is this how the ships should look?

I dont know why the Catapultship is shown without camo in the Museum cause the Camo.tga was the first numbered skin for this ship. :damn:
In a Mission you would see the camo-version !

Just noticed a couple of things,its Nov 20th 1939 so I don't suppose my catapult ship should have camo just yet but I have seen it twice(and sunk it;))and each time it hasn't had any plane on deck?I installed the pack via JSGME,any ideas anyone?:hmm:thanks in advance.

yes i got a problem with the original converters of these ships.

I have read the readme´s from all ships and then i decided to make these pack.
Following path are in the original readme !

Bitte Beachten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- Der Mod ist ausschließlich für den NICHT kommerziellen Gebrauch erstellt. Jegliche kommerzielle Verwendung ist somit verboten.

- Die Benutzung des Mods in Freeware Silent Hunter 3 Modifikationen ist erlaubt, wenn entsprechende Credits gegeben werden.

It means that you can use this Unit in every freeware silent hunter 3 modification by givin credits but it is forbidden to use this unit in any comercial Mod.
The Releasethread shows you that every ship has the credit and the readme says this too.

Now they got the opinnion that i have to ask them for permission.
My opinnion :
Why should i ask them when the permission is spoken out in the readme ?? :damn:

If you wanne have these ships you have to download them from the Pages of the Converters and you have to add them one by one in to your game.
Dont forget to edit the english_names.cfg / german_names.cfg in you Data/Sea-Folder.

As long as the codes e.g;"NKSL" that go along with the names match the filenames of the objects it doesn't matter what name you give them as the files EnglishNames,cfg and GermanNames.cfg are where they are defined for the game. Whatever you put in is what will display in the ship identification displays.

Yesterday I torpedoed one of them, the old freighter. Although my two torpedos were a little fast and hit her in the very bow (in a manner that the bow should have dissapeared), the second one generated a devastating explosion, the ship broke in two perfect halves and went to the bottom in a matter of seconds, in the stock SHIII style.

You can install them via JSGME but you still have to manually insert the text into the EnglishNames cfg

I installed the original mod thru JSGME on the first day it was available (before the controversy).

I checked the englishnames cfg and all the new ships from the mod are already listed there. The original mod file must do it automatically when installed thru JGSME.

I guess I got lucky.

If you have gone to :
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SH3 or GWXv103\data\Sea EnglishNames cfg and they are already in then you should be good to go :arrgh!:

It is suposed to be released at some point in the future. The way it's going though we'll probably use it in SH5 :damn:

It's not canned - it is still "alive". I stopped work for a while but now I have continued. I am designing skins and correcting modeling errors on various ships using Wings3d.

It's not canned - it is still "alive". I stopped work for a while but now I have continued. I am designing skins and correcting modeling errors on various ships using Wings3d.

Remember back around 8 MONTHS? I was looking forward to downloading Iambecomelife's Merchant Pack as a "Christmas Present" for myself!!!:o

I will still regard it as a "special treat"! Everything worth having is worth waiting for!;)
