View Full Version : Poops new NYGM thread
First I'm lovin NYGM but I have a few problems. I have the SHIV scene file for SHIII 2.3 and it dosen't seem to work with NYGM or maybe it isn't NYGM persay but the scene file itself...whatever one the sky is black. There's a sun, water, ships but the sky is blacker then oil; looks like the entire universe imploded or something. Second I'm just wondering if the mod is at 16km or 8km visibility and how to change between the two. AND finally completely unrelated to this stuff is where did those mods go that had all the new ground objects like farms and new buildings.
Its been a while since I played NYGM but IIRC it operates on 16km visibility which means you are not likely to ge the SHIV scene working with it.
In relation to the ground object mods Urfisch is your man. Not sure whether any of that got released all I've seen are screenies so far.

Yeah I figured that would be the case with SHIV scene file.
SH4 scene dat is incompatible with NYGM due to the latter being based in the 16k visibility mod. You could however change the whole thing to 8k, but again the sensors would not act correctly as they are meant for 16k
Also, there was an early version of the SH4 scene dat for 16k, which should work for NYGM, BUT it had some problems and Reece finally abandoned the idea. Anyway, as far as I have tested, the mod didn't look that bad when you just stay in your ship. With external cameras it's a different story, though.

I have never seen this 'black-sky' problem but apparently some players get this after a mega-mod with 16k?
Tuddly3 has a blacksky-fix d/l on his filefront site, here's the link (http://dodownload.filefront.com/6405480//cd704541140d0939a88cee2260a0ab8935772e86d45819d3ae e9e9fb22e8318cb3b7091065aba89b) maybe this will help.
