Captain, I know this may be a DA question. But, since most are graphics and sound mods. Do I need to d/l all of them again or have you just tested previous mods and know they work?

Finished updating all the mods to v1.3!
If some one finds a mistake or that something does not work as it should PLEASE! post here. I will be more then willing to fix it. As I did this sort of on the fly there might be some mistakes, I think not, but anyway!

That deserved it's own post. BTW, my campaign will CTD randomly until I scrub all the internal cargo =1 on generic merchants out of it. I'm working on it.

That mod is still around and is 1.3 compatible, but I cant find it at the mo. The texture you need to deal with is C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Misc

If he had to he could steal it from there.


Personally...I like the "OLD" look of things with the noise.

I might get back to it this weekend but. But as the new Clock has an additional fascia for torps its even a bigger nightmare to fix it :p

There are some disadvantages to a “super mod” as one cannot pick and choose. If you make it one mod I cannot weed out the mods I do not like. I like that you make several little mods, something to consider if your thinking of making one big mod.

I like to pick and choose stuff for my own game so there are a lot of Mod's I won't even go near because I havn't a clue how to seperate stuff to make it work for me. Well some I understand but not enough to make it work right. But thanks for the help with down sizing the torpedo clock C.C.

Just applied v1.3 ( weekend begins!!! ) and did the first startup, Modless - boy is SH4 naked without your mods. Doesn't even SOUND the same from first click.

and pasted to the new files for each thing in the game you would like that dosn't effect too much and see if it works. So much has been changed with the patch.

I found the problem I thought I would post it for everyone incase someone else had a problem too! Station #9 has a total of 9 buttons with the new ones where the mod shows it has 10 and the last 2 are miss labeld. So this is what it should look like with the new buttons:

on some, but not all when downloading from FileFront, I keep getting this error..any ideas what it is?

I get that message all that time, FileFront is a garbage site anyways. Wish the good modder could find a FREE server to post these mods!

There are some good server that allow DL without having to register or have java an cookies enabled, but they don't seem to want to use them.

http://U-Boot.realsimulation.com use to be a good site to DL SH3 MODS but they went registed only....

Well mercury_marauder :hmm: I don't know where you got that but I just checked all 3 versions of bs_silrun_all_menus I made and none of them had a gap like that in the button list!

I would normally say re-download the mod but you already fixed your problem. :up:

Captain your link to the pulldown map mod, in the revised edition rA

The mod is missing two very important tga files both the periscope files are missing!!!

I just tried to load SH4 with this mod runn ing ONLY and get an error message

Betterscopes Attack tga is missing
Betterscopes obsevation is missing...

The messages are of the top of my head but I quess you know what I mean...

Ahhhhh DAM! its because of the better scope mod I had installed using that .ini. I am uploading a new version any min anyway, cause of some small mistakes in the Orders Bar. Will fix...30min:p

I cann't seem to get this mod to work. It shows up on the jsgme list, but there is nothing on station 30. Please help, I think this mod would greatly enhance my mental status while cruising the big Pacific.

You need to manually add the station to your radio index. Read the readme.

Or you have not put the right file in the MOD folder :hmm:
Be sure that the next folder down is called "Data" and not another Folder with the same name as the mod!

This can happen if you simply unpack and drag that folder in to the mod folder.

Unpack, open that folder and you will see another folder with the same name + some read me stuff. THIS IS THE FOLDER you drag to the MODS/JSGME.

Hey Captain, any chance in the far of flung future, you would be adding the new Oakgrove mod to your pull down menu mod....?

I've had a look at it with a compare tool. and quite frankly there is too much in there that I don't know about..I would probably end up deleting half of your new buttons...lol

RDPHm, my radio cuts off at about 10-15m. I thought there was no change compared to 1.2 :hmm:

I really like the "betterscopes" MOD.

With the MOD is an easy to follow instruction set on where to swap maybe 20 lines of text in the menu_1024_768.ini file. Copy paste and it's good to go. The huge compass is super easy to read and ot lights up at night as well. I meant to release a combined "Real Scope +Pulldownmap + some other stuff" mod but so far did not yet get the go ahead from 3rd party or the time for it. As I have 2 weeks holiday coming up from next week...well, there are some stuff I have promised my self to do...so :p

anyone help
i downloaded betterscopes 1.3 and put it in JSGME
load it and start SH4 but up comes two message windows that say
File not found data/menu/gui/layout/betterscopes_observation.tga and
File not found data/menu/gui/layout/betterscopes_attack.tga

I loaded Officer"s rank MOD, them activated it in MOD Enabler.

It does not show on Officer's rank on collar.

what am I doing wrong.

Did you double check that the next folder down in the mod is called "Data"?
It could be that when its unpacked it creates a double folder called the same as the mod. If you have a folder with the same name as the mod one folder down then it wont work.

I can't beleive no one has mentioned the nomograph yet. Maybe it works for you guys still; but not me and I want it back so bad. Any suggestions? (Also the chrom that came with the original chrom, nomograph, and better scopes mod pack doesnt work, instead I have a stevens chrom again..........with no minute or hour hands.......... )

I'm not sure what's going on with CC. I've sent him a PM on another forum where he is actively posting but he hasn't replied. He's made posts since on that forum, so I have no idea what he's doing. I'd hate to think that he's abandoned his modding efforts :(

I was going to try Capt. Cox's Weather Report Button/Green Button mod that he designed for 1.3 with 1.4 - I'm really missing it in 1.4. Has anyone else tried this, yet?

I tried using the updated Pull Down Map mod, but I got a lot of ID Errors when the career tried to load. I'm thinking that it might not like the RSRDC mod that I have installed (I'm not really using much else, excpet for Kriller's ship texture mod and a the updated uniform mod).

When installing are you making sure that you are in port, graphics related stuff this is not an issue, however when messing with other files this can be a prob. Also, I don't think RSRD messes with the above mod you mentioned.

Use Trigger, it has its own interface, so I have not used it.

Yeah. I reinstalled the whole game and installed 1.4. I have only installed a few mods, since a lot of them are still getting the bugs worked out of them. I'll give the 1.3 Button Mod a try tonight and see if it behaves or not. I don't want to install TM just yet.

just wanted to remind people that many of the great mods made by captain cox will work with v1.4 and quite a few still work with v1.5

i wanted to remind people they they are still there if anyone wanted to try them.

not all of them are listed in the first post so look here to his filefront page for all 50 + mods he has posted.

some are updated or slightly different versions of the same mod so there are actually 66 mods there.

someone told me when he left that he just moved on (no explanation) so i figureed he just lost interest i guess.

The 1024_768_menu.ini file changed most of its ID numbers in v1.5, and most of his mods were based on this file.

ok, well thats easy then, sorta, the numbers changed but not the data so find the entry in the new menu file (they usually dont go far so look up or down the list near the old location) then confirm its the same then put in the same numbers he used but i wouldnt copy and past just in case they moved some commas around or mixed up the order. then youve got it. you can release it as a captain cox redo mod or as your own with him credited for the numbers

Actually just copy and paste all of the data below or in the readme file of the mod over the same data in the 1024_768_menu.ini file and your done, just make a backup in case something goes wrong.

And also copy the new Usergramophone.dds file to - data/menu/gui - folder.

in that case you are best to start a new thread titled "need download for captain cox's map table mod"

i keep many mods in my records but i checked and dont have that one but someone out there probably does and can upload it for you.

this is the reason i always tell people to download every mod you find and put it on disk so one day you can go back and find them.

you might not want or need the mod now but you may want to try it or use it for reference for a mod you are doing in the future.

people stop modding and leave the game sometimes and thats how some old mods get lost and links get deleted.

It's too bad when that happens; a lot of fantastic work & talent just fades away with time & changes. I'm currently fighting through a CTD issue with new install's of RFB 2.0 & RSRDC v5 & with those problems I'm thinking how bad it sucks....not because of what's wrong but because I can't enjoy the MODS!

The mods are what brings this game series to life & you can't have mods without modders.

check subsim downloads section

these mods were made for v1.3 of the game so you never know when there might be side effects but AFAIK they all still work great CC mods never seamed to have game version issues like some mods do.

if you cant find something then be specific and ask for it by name, im sure someone might have it
