Hello.
I would like to remind all moders who are supporting their mods and want to make them 1.3 compatible, that the patch has changed a lot of files. In order to preserve the new content in old mods we may not use old files but always take the new ones and make same changes to them.
So please check which files of your mods are affected and do not take the old ones for later versions of your mods.
thanks...
here is the filelist http://files.filefront.com/sh413filelisttxt/;8024572;;/fileinfo.html (http://files.filefront.com/sh413filelisttxt/;8024572;;/fileinfo.html)
just use editor of your choice and search for your files.

But of course! ;)
When we get to the point of an official release of 1.3 I am sure all guys will do the right thing.

well back in sh3 there were still mods that used files from old patches

Just out of curiosity, what exactly is that list. Existing files or what has already been changed in 1.3?

files that are affected + new files by 1.3 patch. So when you find your mod files in that list, then the patch has made changes to them and you shouldnt use them for later versions.

Again...curious...how did you come to that, comparing, using?

Anyho..I am ready to rock for tomorrow's release ;)
Been playing for an H or so here, Gdarn great job on the patch guys. Ok 1st mission photo recon 1943, but did those planes give me a shellacking after I tried to sneak out :P. Major repairs submerged, but ready to roll on...but that will be in the morn :)
Good night man
Sweet dreams:lol:
NOPE this isn't what we need...
I can get a file list for 1.3 easily myself, what I need and what people like Beery need is "WHAT IS NEW IN 1.3 COMPARED TO 1.2..."
1.3 is a cumulative patch and will contain changes that were in 1.1 and 1.2. Mods are currently designed to go "over" 1.2, therefore it is easier for us to see what files we need to change if we know what are the new files or updated files in 1.3. Anything that is still at the 1.2 level we can leave alone (I hope)...
Is that possible to find out, I know someone did this for 1.2 over 1.1....

Just do a CRC/MD5 check of all files of the patch 1.2 install, and again of a 1.3 install. Compare results, done...
Stay away from file date/time. This is not reliable!

youre sure? i cannot install 1.3 right over 1.0 it says i must update to 1.2 first...
Perhaps the beta is different than the real one in that sense?
I thought either a readme I saw, or perhaps a post by elanaiba said that 1.3 was good to go over 1.0.

well looking at prior patches, 1.1 was 116 MB and 1.2 147. summed up = 263. 1.3 is only 210.

This is going to be fun. :p Is Werner right about the leaked patch being the final version. Going by history alone, it seems he has the odds in his favor. There have been authoritative claims to the contrary. No betting pool? This will be fun to find out... I don't know whether to root for Werner or not. I'm hedging my bet and waiting for the official release.
It's strange: the German, who stereotypically would be following procedures with manaiacal precision plunging ahead, and the American, who stereotypically throws away the instruction book and makes up his own procedure swapping methodologies. A big  to Werner, right or wrong. You've made this a lot more fun.

Did you subtract all files in 1.2 that were also in 1.1 when you added them up?

It is indeed ironic, and one in the eye for stereotypes in general. I'll always root for the those who takes risks, pretty much the advancement of the species rests on their daring shoulders.

Indeed! And that is the unifying characteristic of all successful U-Boat and submarine captains as well. German and American torpedo problems were very similar. Captains who figured out that the rules were ensuring their failure and violated the rules were the ones who sunk ships. The German Admiralty was just much quicker to adapt to what the captains were learning because their command stucture was built around innovation from those on the battlefield, not those behind the desk. Our old guard Navy was much too insular and tradition-bound early in the war.

That's why I put a request up...
Cause I ain't got the faintest idea what you're on about..
What is CRC/MD5???
I will have to use time, its the only way until someone comes up with the 1.2 - 1.3 list...
A 1.0 - 1.3 list is useless to me..

what you can do is making a clean 1.2 setup.
make a file list from that. That taking the 1.3 and 1.2 filelist and compare which files changed in size.

File size isn't enough. Files with binary data structures can have many values changed and yet the file size remains the same.
