Ever wondered how objects (guns, props, ships, etc.) are created in SHIII? Or how one object is created and placed on another object in SHIII? :hmm:

I give you my 'Modders Bible for SHIII' of how objects are created and placed in SHIII. It's a tutorial that walks you through how the turret is created and placed on the VIIb sub. I spent many hours making this just to understand the .sim and .dat files. It is in a word document format so all should be able to view it. It also includes the knowledge I have gained from reading the postings of many on subsim.com. This tutorial will give you the knowledge to create, move, add, etc. objects to other objects or create entirely new objects in SHIII. It is a WIP still and any new information, additions, corrections, hints, ideas, etc. would be greatly appreciated from all. You will note in reading this 'Bible' that I have posed questions to items I do not understand. If you have the knowledge to these answers please use this thread to post those answers. My goal is to make a complete 'Modders Bible for SHIII' available to all. With this knowledge available to all the possibilities should be endless for SHIII. :rock:

DD revealed some information to me that made a light bulb go off in my head. I now fully understand the file structures used in the .sim and .dat files. I'll be updating the 'Bible' with this new information. I'll post when it has been updated with this new information. Now I should also be able to make my dual exhaust VIIb sub a reality..........:rock: :rock:
