View Full Version : [TEC] Fixing ships with missing weapons
There are a few ships that have weapons totally missing, even when they appear in the eqp file, etc.
Has anyone figured out what's up with them?
The Large Minelayer is missing guns, though the hardpoints for the turrets are there.
The Armed Trawler is missing a gun, and th DC racks don't show.
I was messing around with the trawler. Can't get DC rack or Y gun to show. Can replace AA with jap versions, and the deck gun as well.
I have no idea what's up with the DC racks though.
Looking at the dat, there are 2 set ups like:
id: F18D571303359F3E Label: cfg#A02_NTRW_
and the ship only shows 2xA0 entrieseven with 4 listed in the cfg.
There are no "W01" things in there at all.
Raised rear platform is actually AA. I can get a gun up there now. DC racks, Y guns, and K guns don't show set to the W01 and W02 slots though.
Any ideas?
These would be great additions to the IJN as coastal ASW platforms, and even as escorts. They're about right to fill in as Sea Trucks, too.

The problem is devs made extense cfg files but made a mess with dat files at the same time.
It happens with planes. Some planes are configured to have several bomb loads, but their nodes are incomplete, and since these nodes are critical for the correct behavior the cfgs are useless. These added to the fact that now thse nodes say what can have the ship/plane and what not.
Can we add or modify nodes to make them work?
Wow, you are right, the eqp files have nothing to do with what is actually possible. They intended the possibility of armed fishing boats, for example. It'd be nice, but there are no nodes.
Damn.

Can we add or modify nodes to make them work?
We could with a powerful 3Dpack, cause our capability to create or edit dat files is little. We need a better tool. As I know, we can only substitute textures and meshes, but we can't add new ones.
Isn't it possible to add new ships? People have made ships and planes from scratch, right?
