For example to work on NSS_Gato_CR.cam ...
Thanks

AFAIK there is no tweak files for those. There is a Cameras.Dat here but

Thanks Captain Cox  , but I have the Cameras.dat ...
I ve found that the .cam files are very important , they say wich camera is playable in each submarine and they say where they are placed ...etc ...
Cameras.dat is a general file , but to place a new camera in a submarine it s necessary to open the .cam file ( for exemple to place a camera in front of the gauges , or the navigator place ( it s not the same in all the submarines )
I m sure if we can work in the .cam files we can tweak all the view in the submarine
Sorry for my bad english ... ;)

Well as I said I think there is no tweak file done for those yet. I guess you have your self a project ;)
I might look in to it during the week...but busy busy at the mo.
If you never did tweak files, check this out

You also might want to check this one

It's a pretty tedious process and takes a lot of time to do this stuff.
But all the info you need to do a tweak file are basically in those threads.

Hope you don't mind me piggy backing on the thread but i'd like to change my default bridge view such that when I go to the bridge i'm standing where the top watch lookout is rather than where the capn normally stands. I believe I can achieve this via tweaking the camera dat file...is this correct ?
I remember a mod that allowed one to set up their views such that they could mouse click to cycle through them. Ideally, i'd like to add the top watch crew view as one of these views for when I want to observe a target through the binnocs.
Am I on the right track in my thinking or should I make an appointment with a psycologist ?

Yes Uber Gruber , I think to change the camera view on the deck , it s in the .cam file you have to look ... You can t put the camera in the top of the deck with the Cameras.dat cause it s only the general parameters of the camera ... In the .cam file you can change the position in the submarine ...
How I know that ? I was very sad to have not the Aft camera avalable in the S 18 Class for example , so I ve the idea to rename the NSS_Gato_CR.cam in NSS_SClass_CR.cam and add NSS_Gato_CT.cam in the SClass folder after renamed it NSS_SClass_CT.cam ( was not existing ) and , after doing this , all the views from Gato are avalable in SClass :D
The best should be to open these .cam files and to add manualy what you want ...

Moin,
tweaking the point of view should be no problem. IŽve written some tweakfiles for SHIII that may be used to change all gunners viewpoints and captains position viewpoint. The challenging point would be to add new cameras. Time permitting IŽll have a look to convert those tweakfiles to match SHIV needs.

I ve made a tweaked file for NSS_Gato_CR.cam
http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/893/sanstitreqg0.jpg
But .... I m not sure it s here we can do something :-?
It seems at last to be only the list of the cameras avalable in each submarine , no more ....
Thanks to Captain Cox for his tutorial on how to use the Timetraveller program ...
Perhaps DivingDuck you can tell us what file to tweak for change the cameras ?
