Please help with "We dive at dawn" mission

Has anyone avoided being painted by the active sonar. I have tried operating at the sonic layer depth, and changing layers every few minutes, any changing my speed, but no matter what I try I cannot avoid being painted by the active sonar from the aircrafts, and the ship, anyone know solid tactics for avoiding active sonar. Thanks in advance for your help.

Have played We Dive at Dawn mission with DW never have been able to
make the the first Goal Leaving Harbor with out collision with surface
ships:D I even stayed on Bridge Leaving Harbor and never saw any
collision with any sailboats or any surface craft? And I all ways get the message that I have been detected by the ASW Aircraft.
But its a fun mission with all the Sonar contacts.
May Load it and play with SC. And may play with DW if I reinstall it.:D

Just installed DW again. patch to 1.04 and add LWAMI 3.08 Full mod. I may try the We Dive at Dawn with DW I can
stand in Sail Leaving Port and check that we don't hit any surface traffic
Leaving port. with truth off.:D I lke this cold war mission go out and attack a Land Target and track a sub till she leaves the area.
still l plan on running SC and DW sub missions Looking forward to running some Cold war missions. on both Sims. Glad I got my Full DW Manual study again. Should help with info to run SC.
