Hi guys,

I'm using GWX but I kinda miss the little circle with arrow that indicates your U-boat's position and direction when travelling underwater. I remember someone starting a thread on this when GWX was first released. Any ideas on how to restore it?

Hi Captain,

open the file Data1.cab on your SH3-DVD [e.g. with 'WinRAR'] and extract the file _43D029BC6A1A491EB313F516F3BA2228. Rename it to UMark.tga and copy it into the folder ...\data\Misc\. That's it.

anyone who uses gwx should keep a copy of the stock 1.4b data folder on file for just this reason.

as SSB said you need to replace the UMark.tga into the folder ...\data\Misc\.

if you want to you can just download sh3 into a different folder, update it then move the data folder somewhere safe (i put mine on a dvd) so if you ever want to remove gwx you just swap out data folders and save the downtime uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

Another possibility is to activate GWX by Jaesen's JSGME. It creates backups of every replaced file in the !BACKUPS folder by appending the mod's name to the saved files. http://img116.exs.cx/img116/6469/g5cgrin.gif

Hi Daveuk,

Open either Data1.cab or Data11.cab provided that both files are in the same folder. Then click the upper bar [in WinRAR, WinZIP or what ever you use] on 'Name' to sort the files by names. Now you should be able to find the right file [provided that you're able to count http://img103.exs.cx/img103/6541/biggrin.gif].

Thanks for that and yes I can count, that file is definitely not on my DVD, in either Dat1.cab or Data11.cab

Have taken a screenshot to illustrate, but can't get it to show here from Photobucket.

God knows what's wrong with the File Front download, all I get is a download error notification, to prove that it's not just me I've asked 2 friends to download the UMark.tga, both got exactly the same result as myself.

It looks like I'll have to do a fresh install of SH111 and GWX.
