View Full Version : PROBLEM: texture import? after land unit clone

i cloned successfully the small_bunker unit, to create the monument of honor at laboe, kiel. but he uses some strange "concrete2.tga" texture for the model, which cannot be found anywhere. in the dat itself is nothing. in the texture folder is nothing.

as i copied a named texture in the tex folder, nothing happend. when i rename the texture node in the dat, he doesnt find the wanted texture any more and the model is coated in white. but even when i copy the "new name" texture into any folder (the landunit folder, texture folder, etc) he doesnt use it. its white, and stays white. i cannot import any tga into the specific dat, as there are NO textures inside. where does he search for this texture???

strange, strange problem. i tried the whole evening to figure it out. damn...

anyone help? please...

concrete2.tga texture plate can be found inside the SH3\dat\Library\Harbor_kit.dat file.

thanks! i just found it. but how to import a new one into the harbour_kit? as he doesnt takes the texture out of the tex folder??? when i change the texture, other objects which use this one, are changed. so i have to import a new one, i guess. chessmaster datextract, pack3d and dat unpacker do not work.

do i have to import i manually by hex editing? if so, how do i manage that. havent found anything here in the forum.

UPDATE:

imported the new texture successfully, BUT he does not use it! the building stays white. im fed up with it. never had such a mysterious problem. fact is: he has the texture wanted in the harbour_kit, but he does not use it! gonna look if this texture appears somewhere else...

success! solution might be not to name existing textures with numbers at the end. as i used letters (eg "concrete2.tga -> concretex.tga) it worked by copying them into the tex folder.

now i gonna post some pics.
