Sorry, I'm sure this question is old news, but I've been wrestling with an uncooperative computer for the past 3 days. Basically, was locking up in GWX when I moved the mouse and acting unstable in other programs. Then it wouldn't even boot when I reset (would freeze during win loading). I couldn't even get the win XP disc to reinstall XP, then I found an Iolo System Mechanic 7 Drive Medic Recovery CD I'd made and was able to run it a couple times and things are stable now ... at lest for for the time being. I also switched from a USB mouse to a PS/2 mouse, since the USB mouse was in use when GWX repeatedly locked up. Anyway, enough bitching... :damn:

I docked at my first milk cow in GWX, but after hitting esc and starting a "new patrol" the date had advanced a couple months. In a short search someone said SH3Cmdr 2.6 recognizes a milkcow and advances the date 1 day. I haven't installed any SH3Cmdr for GWX yet. Does version 2.7 also limit the advance to one day? Thanks.

Here's a couple milkcow screens (for those who've never seen one)
Milkcow is in the foreground:

and in the background in this screen

If I remember correctly SH3Cmdr recognises the Milk Cow and advances the date by one day. I think the reason why the date advanced for so long is possible damage. Was your Hull damaged? When you're docked on a Milk Cow you cannot upgrade your boat but you do repair it. I think you need one day for each tenth of a percentage of damage.

The days in base (any base, including milk cows - stock Sh3 linitation) is defined by the Basic.cfg file. To correctly simulate milk cows short time docking you need to either edit your basic.cfg for that patrol (before start the game again) or use Sh3Cmdr which makes this automatically (but you need to choose the correct option on SH3Cmdr). Another good option for the guys that don't use SH3Cmdr is to use Stiebbler's excelent Sh3Patrol what was designed specially for milk cows patrols.

Hopes that help you!;)

Use SH3 Cmdr v2.7 and it automatically detects when your not in a home base ie: milch cow or resupply ship and sets your day at 'base' to 1.
If you have damage to your boat an addittional day is added for each percentage point eg: 5% damage = 5 days :arrgh!:

Yes, my hull integrity was down to 49%. So even though I haven't installed SH3Cmdr for GWX yet (I'm rebuilding my SH3 installs after reinstalling and only have SH3Cmdr for WAC right now) the extra time at the MC fit in. I'll be adding SH3Cmdr 2.7 to GWX soon. :)

With SH3 Cmdr installed 49% hull damage would have equated to 52 days (51 for the damage + 1 for resupply)

Better not ask these kind of questions TarJak. I'm sure it was something really painful ;) :D

From air craft attacks during a long patrol. Both bombs and machine gun fire. :o

You gotta be careful out there! It's a deep ocean. Do you run decks awash? Makes it faster to crash dive if you are.
