View Full Version : [TEC] Maximum torpedo launching depth
Basically, I already know how to edit the maximum depth at which one can launch torpedoes, but what I want to know is, what is the maximum known depth from which a WWII U.S. submarine launched torpedoes?

The deepest I've read is in a post by AVGWarhawk - USS Torsk, Mark28 torp, 400 feet. Here's the link: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=116106
At work, don;t have time to research sub issues on my own, so I'm taking in everything I can find on this great forum.
... and to think I played SHIII without knowing about this forum, editing my .cfg files by myself, lol. But I did get here in time to get the Grey Wolves expansion

Open up the respective sub's CFG file in /data/submarine/NSS_*** and look for TorpLaunchMaxDepth=, and then enter the value you want to use, in meters.
I asked in the thread Argus linked to on sonar being good enough for deep torp launches for Mk27s, and if a mod has fixed sonar. Also asked if Patch 1.3 would be needed to fix sonar for SH4 before this is able to be done.
Input needed as I haven't tried using sonar yet, seeing it's not working as it should.
