View Full Version : [REL] Fix Radar Grid ...
Hi, All.
RadarSweep.7z
Author: Anvart.
This mod is for SH4 game ver. 1.2.
This mod fix mistake in script shader file (PPIRadarPS.fx).
Now you can see stock grid on radar display.
On a plan of developers the grid is made of a celluloid film with grid figure and it is put from above on the radar display (I think it's R/L).
I also have cleaned word "Range:" from the radar display (in SHControllers.act file).
In this mod the size and the form of radar markers also are changed. Main marker is small circle, additional markers are the slanting cross and the cross.
Added: If you wish to switch the marker image (radarContact1.dds file), you should press and keep key Ctrl ...
If you liked radar views on pictures you can download Cameras_dat.7z file.
All files are on my FileFront page in SH4 folder.

Thanks  Downloading...
Er, I just downloaded it, and got a black display...
There is no grid texture, there is only one shader file - I would have expected at least two - one for "lots of noise" version and one for clean version..
hmm, ok I think I found it.. we are supposed to edit ourselves then..
REQ. Better install directions, this is a must have mod, think JSGME please.:rock:Read me file also include Thxs.
If you can't find download, try this link. http://files.filefront.com/RadarSweep7z/;7681926;/fileinfo.html

The basic mod idea: I have corrected mistakes in script PPIRadarPS.fx.
Now you can to use stock ppiCircles.dds file for radar grid, and radar noise mode is accessible now ... ppiCircles.dds file is in Misc folder ... :o

What is the radar noise mode for? At first glance, I would think it's a way of detecting other radars in the area causing interference, but does SH4 allow for that?
Is the radar noise meant for some other purpose?
Hi, All.
In SH4 Radar Noise mode must to be switched by hardcode (electromagnetic interference or radar damage events) ...
If you wish to test Radar Noise mode, write double slash (in a green circle on picture) ...

Nope...UltraEdit is not freeware :ping:
Anvart,
If I didn't say this before, I'd like to say Great Work!!!
Your new PS code is making my head spin :ping: .
I like the idea with the radarcontacts. I wish the Dev's made 8 different sizes and applied them according to range and azimuth.
Although my HLSL language is basic, I wish they had the contacts as another TEXCOORD ... could have been some possibilties, perhaps.
