Question on changing a skin after GWX

How exactly do you go about changing a skin now that they are in the dat files for each individual plane and ship folders? I havn't a clue on how to do this so make believe I am a teenager just learnng in high school LOL!

I know because SOMEONE is buying the U-boat models at Hobby Lobby.

There are tons of places on line to buy anything related to WWII stuff from planes to UBoats and so much more they even have a working VIIC Uboat that dives in water and everything by remote control.
