I bought this game in the sales bin, as I useally play flightsims. I'm actually enjoying the game more than anticipated. And found some mods wich make targeting easier. The only 1 I haven't been able to find is the mod. Devnull made wich allows you to tel what the precise bearing is of a target.

Wazoo's page has helped me a lot, all I need more is that "darn" mod.

Can any1 tell me where to get it, or even better better mail me the mod.

Thanks in advance

Maybe you need a higher resolution Bearing.tga file? To see single degree marks in Periscope and UZO?

If so, one can be found in Ducimus' GWX Flavored to Taste mod.

Whell the original verison of the mod was by a person named Devnull.

And the location for the download was: http://www.charliex.com/sh3, this I found at
http://www.paulwasserman.net/SHIII/

all the mod does is replace the original Bearing lines in scope/UZO with bearing lines which are more precise ie at 1 degree intervals instead of 5 degrees

OK, so it's the bearing.tga file I was talking about few posts above...

You can find it there
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=103913

Just decompress in a folder and look for the file named "bearing.tga". Then use this file to replace the original file in SHIII after naking a backup copy (or even better build a JSGME-compatible "mini-mod" only including this file)

This mod has lots of interesting stuff, have a look at it.

BTW, Wazoo's method is my preferred one for manual targeting

Cheers

Great tnx.. Now only I need to learn how to do that :)

Dowload Ducimus' GWX Flavored to Taste Mod and unzip it. This the path to the bearing.tga file: data/menu/Gui/bearing.tga Locate the bearing.tga modded file, copy and paste it somewhere.

There are 2 ways to install this into the game:

(1) locate the original file in the Silent Hunter game under the same path and backup the original file. The easy way to do this is to rename the original (bearing.tga_original). Now, copy and paste the modded file to this same folder (data/menu/Gui). The original file can be reinstalled by removing the modded file and then by renaming bearing.tga_original to bearing.tga as previously titled.

(2) Make a mini-mod by creating a new folder and path: 1 degree bearing mod/data/menu/Gui/bearing.tga where bearing.tga is Ducimus' modded file from the download. Now, locate the Silent Hunter Directory and open it. Copy and paste your 1 degree bearing mod into the subdirectory titled Mods. Locate the JSGME enabler under the Silent Hunter directory and open it. Move your new mod from the left column to the right column to install.

This might be too much detail but not knowing how much experience you have I tried to be a little bit detailed. Hope it helps.
