Running GWX:

One of the things that drives me nuts is the ability of DD's to pick up a stationary sub that is just off the surface, regardless of sea state.

IIRL, even with today's gear it is practically impossible to detect a diesel/electric boat that is running silent. This is made more difficult in rough seas, when sea clutter creates a lot of ambient noise. Yet DD's can and will find your "hole in the water" even if steaming by at 8kts.

So, any way to turn that down?

There is a sensor tweak with Rubini Stay Alert Crew Fix:

Actually, I've just thought, I'm currently using the 8km version which might be a better option for you depending on your system specs.
Does somebody have a link (I'm at work right now) ?
