In-game Shortcuts for Bridge, Periscope ?

Hello everyone,

is it possible to access the conning tower and periscope via a shortcut (or press a key) ?

The game does not offer keys or shortcuts for accessing those areas by default.

Grahically put, at the moment it looks like this:


Control Room (F2) <----keyboard click----> Periscope view (F3)

(You can access the control room by F2 and the periscope view by F3, respectively)

So far, so good.

Now the other way to reach the periscope view F3 via the control room F2, this time via MOUSE, by clicking through the various intermediate stations:

Control Room (F2) <---mouse click---> Conning tower ----mouse click---> Periscope from close -----> Periscope view (F3)


Any suggestions, how one can access conning tower/Periscope from close via a shortcut/key ? That is, for example, press key ... to get directly to conning tower, and press key .... to get directly to the periscope seen from close up.

I hope this makes it clear, now.

Ahhh! so you're really looking for a short cut key to the 'Con'.
There is key assignment proggy for SH3 somewhere, maybe you can impliment it with this.
If you look in the commands_eng(de)cfg files, all the commands/stations are there. you can fiddle it to what suites you - don't forget to backup first

Before I meddle with any .cfg files, I will try SetKeys 1.3, it looks very good.

The very easy way to do this is to go into your commands_eg.cfg and look for
[Cmd13]
Name=Conning_tower_camera
Ctxt=1
Page=0x33000000,3715
GoBack=Interior_fore_camera
Key0=0x0D,"Enter"

Add the last line Key0=0x0D,"Enter" (like shown) and then hitting Enter will take you to the conning tower 3D view then all you have to do is click on the scope. To back off the scope as if you'd just taken you eye off it. Hit enter again.

Just make sure that enter isn't mapped to something else in the commands_eg.cfg first. A very quick check look will tell you.
