Moin,

this tiny mod makes the mines of any minefield partly visible when breaking the water line. It will be a part of the next DD_Debris version.

You may even blast them with your deck gun / flak.

I donīt know whether there is a mod like this around already. If so, kick me, otherwise download and enjoy.

Very interesting mod, and great like allways by DivingDuck. Only I have one question, is this mean that the all mines will be visible on surface all the time, or be visible in situations when the sea is calm or something like that in connection with wave height maybe?

I don't seen any similar mod like this except one which came like optional mod with NYGM but that mod make the mines invisible to stop their avoiding by submarine IIRC.

Wow. Let's just hope this and the Debris Mod will find it's way into GWX. Manually adding all that stuff into the campaign is beyond my capabilities. :up:

Maybe it could be enabled through JSGME, as a "minefield/no minefield" option ? :p

it depends on the depth you set them in ME whether you see them or not. If all the mines are slightly below the surface they break through the water line only when the swell allows them to do.

This is a wonderful idea! I would agree about it seeming like a cheat, since they tried to put them deep enough to be invisible, but I've read that some minesweepers were able to dispatch mines by having crew member shoot rifles at them; so obviously those at least could be seen.

Yourīre right. All minefields will be "updated" automatically.

It just depends on the minimum depth they have been set by the mission designer whether you can see some or not.
If you like to see them break through the surface in your self made missions, make sure to set the minimum depth at values between "0" and "-1", but not deeper than -1m. The closer the value comes to "-1", the rarer you see the mines.
