Hi there captains..

Just finished the Salmon.. So my next project is the S-Class boats.
I have some pictures from navsource.org site. But non close shots.

If you have some nice S-Class pictures, please show them here or mail them to me dennis@oldsmobile1958.com

What I need are pictures where you can see how the hull structure is mounted.
Where are the rivots ?? etc..

im working on the s-18 but it will take a while also looking for good source for photos or even models , any colour profiles would be nice also

anyway did anyone noticed that the water reflections " caustic " dont work for the s-18 ?

hummm ... these are not the same type as in game ... sorry

its the S-44 (USS-155) it was sunk by a japanese destroyer

Great series of photos. Looks like the S-44 underwent quite an overhaul sometime between Feb 43 and June 43 - air and surface search radars and a 20mm AA gun. Also, the bridge was cut down in the front for the AA mount. Doesn't the game model put it astern? It also looks like the bow antennas were removed.

I don't think those photos were ever released to the public - didn't the Navy redact anything that clearly showed radar masts?

dunno about that but seen some sites with photos where the improovementes on the submarines where document with photos with white circles around the parts that where improoved i think those where navy oficial not for release


anyway did someone finish an s-boat skin ?

I don't know about Jmack.. But mine gonna take some time..
To be honest I don't have much time right now.

These S-class textures are really different from the fleetboats that I have to start from scretch...

there are some pictures from before the war ... many of the s-boats where painted in dull black in the late 30's and kept this colour during the war. also there are many variants depending on what harbors they where refited and since this work was donne individually for each boat there are diferences between them like the covers for the dive planes are diferent ... the holes for the water to escape are diferent and other stuff also

Due to a virus, I lost all my original bmp files..
So I have to start from scretch again.

Also the summer months are always very busy for me with work and in the weekends I visit classic car shows with my oldtimer..

So sorry.. it's gonna take a while..
p.s. due to this same virus I also lost my favourite graphic program.
It's pretty old but I love it.. So if anybody can help me with a copy of Ulead Iphoto plus 4.. I would appreciate it :up: (this is an freeware program that was deliverd with scanners 6 years ago..)

Thanks.. but at this stage.. I am also the only SH-IV sub skinner around :rotfl: :rotfl:
