In the past I have used a Storm Guns mod so I can use my deck gun at any time while on surface I'm just wonder if there is one just GWX or can someone recomend one.
(I lost the orginal I mentioned earlier)

Just go into the cfg file of whichever sub your using and change the storm conditions to 99

IIRC - The bad weather guns mod only changed the storm conditions for each U-Boat class.

This can be redone but there is a side affect. You crew will not wear their storm gear.

To make the changes, open the cfg files for each boat and change the storm conditions to 15. IIRC the default should be 11.

Not my cup of tea but each to their own.;)

Why 99, the max condition is 15???

No prob with what mel...eerm sorry dan says ;) but I think you'll find that in the worst weather state sometimes 15 is not enough. Play safe and go for 99 :yep:
IIRC the 'bad weather guns' mod changed it to 99 :hmm:

Where are the list of subs in the configuration files?

Where are the storm conditions listed in SH 3? All I can find is bad weather conditions listed on the basic configuration files.

Go to:
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\GWXv103\data\Submarine\NSS_Uboat7c (and to every other sub folder you want to change)
You will find one CFG file.....go to Storm Conditions and change the value there.

I'll also answer your PM for thoroughness

StormConditions=11,0.4;max wind speed [m/s], max rain intensity [0,1]

i find it disturbing that somtimes WHILE NOT IN A STORM my crew dosnt even want to go on the deck/flak gun, reason: "were in a storm" :shifty:
we just have a little rough sea... so i had them standing in there underwear in the next storm at the bridge while the watch had to get rest :arrgh!:
still they refuse in a bit rough sea... i think il edit the file then :yep:

What they really mean is they don't want to have to hump 10,000 shells about

i think that is is a ridiculous limitation.

in my las patrol i found a gato submarine surfaced , after one torpedo impact i surfaced to try to finish it with another torpedo , but when i surfaced , it fire at will against me with the gun and AA .

i canīt fire my guns in rough waters but the enemy can...:nope: ... itīs not fair play

Hi!

For a little historical perspective, a quote from Teddy Suhren's memoirs:"The first freighter that crossed our path was a Swede. We closed in on him on the surface, and hoisted on the periscope the signal 'Stop at once! Do not use your radio!' The Swede acted as though he hadn't noticed. To show him we meant business, we gave orders to man the 8.8cm gun on the foredeck, and approached him at half-speed. The boat rolled in a slight swell, sea state 3. When I looked over the bridge to give orders to the gun crew, I saw there was no-one on the gun. The movement of the boat had swept them away. Fortunately they were clipped with safety-harnesses and now hung suspended on ropes over the saddle tanks. The Kommandant reacted immediately and stopped the boat so that they could pull themselves back on board...One thing however we learnt from this: namely that in the Atlantic, travelling at any sort of speed, and maybe even head-on to a sea, the gun is useless. One could only just manage to stay on one's feet if the sea was completely calm."

Sea state "3" is generally correlated with Beaufort wind force "4" ("moderate breeze") or between 5.5 to 8 meters/second. This sea state means the waves are no more than one meter high.

Aye maybe so Pablo
But the SH3 weather isnt the real Atlantic weather
Lowering the sea state for guns means you would never be able to use them

:rotfl:

Tis a compromise I suppose
Wouldnt be so bad if the AI suffered due to weather too

I only want to shoot the 105 gun in a slighlty more choppy sea one or 2 knots more

Then tweak the storm conditions in the boats CFG file
