Hi guys,

After installing a new copy of SHIII (PC crashed before), I proceeded to enable DD's excellent open hatch mod. However, after stepping into the radio/sonar shack via Shift F2, I noticed that the sonar/radiomen weren't at they stations. After going back to F7 to check their positions, I pressed F9 which brought me back into the radioroom (However, it is said that DD's mod disabled this function:hmm: ).

Ok, so something is definitely wrong here...

So then I turned back and almost jumped when I saw this:

lol, makes you think twice about stepping in there doesn't it?:rotfl:

Just in case, here's my mod list (from oldest to most recent):

Harbour_Traffic_1.47
Airpower 1.4c HT
16 KM BASIC ATMOSPHERE MOD v1.0
JIRM - HarbourTraffic1.47+IO
PascalSmoke_jan2007
The Seafloor Mod
Torpedo damage Final
TypeVII_Open_Hatch_HiRes
TypeVII_OpenHatch_Peri_Stock
Daily Contacts Report 1.01
Baracs IV0.1
CobaltsVIIc41
Krillerssun
Sobers 3D waves
Jcwolf Leer v.3
Transparent Konsole
Scirč-Tikigod- repeated order
Fubars VIIC U253

I'm guessing that this has something to do with installing Cobalt's VIIc/41 mod after enabling OpenHatch? I'm not using GWX btw.

IIRC the original mod had no problems....that's the one I'm using...but with GWX :arrgh!:

If you check your data/Interior/NSS_Uboat7 folder and it contains a RR Dat file that isn't 0 bytes, then something (probably the VIIC add-on) has overwritten DD's mod which doesn't need it.

If you reinstall the open hatch mod after the VIIC you should lose the "black hole" effect.

Alternatively, if you are feeling really lazy, you could simply delete the RR DAT file. Not " good house keeping" though! :D

BTW, the open hatch mod definitely doesn't disable the F9 key.

Thanks! Now that I remember, the mod only disabled clicking on the hatch itself to access the radioroom...

But I'd have to admit, I kinda like the black-hole effect though, kinda creates an alternative hidden reality where the sonarmen only exist, only with no way back!

I think that you forgot to enable one folder of the VII Open Hatch mod, the most important one. And the one you ar emissing is to be enabled before the other 2.

What do you mean? I enabled Open Hatch Hi-Res first since I don't use GWX, then the Stock Periscope setting that goes with the mod.

I'll put this out there as I don't know for sure......

Is the open hatch mod compatible with Stock SH3?:hmm: Wasn't GWX's dat files used in it's creation?

@ Danlisa

Definitely wasn't based on GWX dats.

DD originally used NYGM as a basis. Later he added high res tgas which made it compatible with GWX and any stock 1.4b based installs that weren't already using Bordinstrumente.

@ CapnNemo

Didn't the reinstall of Open Hatch mods after the VIIc/41 or simple deletion of the NSS_Uboat7_RR.dat file help?

Moin,

just came across this thread. Did you solve the problem already?

In your mod listing the OH_HiRes and the OH_peri_stock are present. But the OH mod itself is missing. That´s what CapZap1970 was pointing at. I assume you just forgot to mention it in your listing, right?

DD
