View Full Version : IXC/2 Texture Problem
These things are happening now as I have never got this far into the game to be able to utilize Sonar or Radar! I'm not sure what this piece of equipment is or does, but it certainly shouldn't be floating where it is, the sub I'm using is Furbars but not sure if this is the problem:

Once again could someone tell me what file is causing this please?:yep:
Many Thanks.

Was it just a skin or a dat you are using for the sub ?
It may be the dat is an old one and not compatable with the mod you are running
Hi BBW, I do get myself in deep water sometimes! Could it be that the following are GWX files:
Turm9c_4_hd.dat
Turm9c_5_hd.dat
and the U-boats (all) are stock or Furbars?
I'm never sure of the relationship of the various files but since the two I mention are in the "Objects folder", I replaced all the other stock u-boat files here but for some reason overlooked these, I would presume this may be the problem.
I'm basically running GWX with stock u-boats.:yep:
Thanks.
Edit: Just discovered that these two files don't exist in stock, maybe I should just delete them?
I removed the 2 dat files from the objects folder but problem is still there, could someone tell me what this device is & the name of the file that is causing this PLEASE!
Thanks.

Hi Reece, that's your radar detection plating. I would imagine that these are controlled by the sensors.dat file.
When you say you are running GWX with stock u-boats, what do you mean?
If you have GWX & have just copied the relevent files from stock then you are going to get lots of problems. IIRC, Ref has changed nearly all the dat files for GWX, for reasons like Cable Fixes, Floating DG, Rotating RDF, Rotating Radar & Compass Fix aswell as more minor fixes.
I'm not sure that this will be easily fixable.
Answer me this:
Where are the U-boat DAT files from?
Where are the skin textures from & what format are they in?
Hi Dan, the submarine\NSS_Uboat9c folder contains mostly stock files, I did remove Furbars files but still the same, obviously there is a GWX file external to this folder that has the "radar detection plating", if I had to guess it is probably a library file.:)
I don't like upsetting GWX modders but I find the bouyancy issues & trying to keep the u-boats level a pain! I guess this plating problem may exist with other u-boats.:-?
GWX added u-boats such as NSS_Balao are still there just the stock ones copied over, as I said the game thus far has been excellent, problem just seems to be the plating.
Thanks.

Go back to the original files in GWX...
Reece you have a conning tower file from stock or other mod, as all sub files are heavilly modded on GWX if you change one there's a good chance you're messing with something, if you wan't to use another skin you must extract the TGA file from the non GWX dat file with pack3d and just drop it in the textures folder.
On second thought, it could also be the wrong sensor files (library dir).

I wouldn't have thought the sensors.dat file would contain the graphic image or position of the "radar detection plating", I thought it was only sensor adjustments, I have changed this with Rubini's sensors, may have to remove this.:yep:

Reece, I suppose the reduced positive boyancy mod doesn't help??
I think Ref will be right. Get all the U-Boat DAT files back to the GWX versions & use Stock tga files for the textures/skins.

OK, I put the GWX u-boats (including objects) back again with bouyancy fix:

I really hope this fix's the u-boats from gradually sinking when stationary!!:yep:

Rubini's sensors are based on GWXs so I'm quite sure they aren't a problem, but give it a try, if there's a compatibility problem I'll work with him to correct it.
The sensor file contains the 3d objects of all the radars/hydrophones, etc. they are also modified on GWX to fit the rotating radars, there are hundreds of file modifications on GWX that are not obvious, but important to game play, that's why the team is concerned about non GW team mods, specially if they cahnge a lot of things, it's to easy to break things even by changing a file that seems inocent... then came the "GWX bug" thread and almost 90% of them are externally generated problems. Please don't take it personal Reece, it's just a general statement, I like people doing mods, just don't like the GWX is bugged comments without checking...
Ref

I understand Ref, I have never complained of this being a GWX bug, I knew it had to be because I had stock uboats in, just wanted to know the offending file!:yep: I certainly would never have thought it to be the sensors.dat file, I thought this was purely sensitivity adjustments etc, I think the only reason for using stock was the fact that the u-boats gradually sink when stationary.:-?
Thanks all!

That's why I said it wasn't directed to you ;) , it's a good example of how to ask for help.
Ref
Very very nice skin Reece.....
Dumb dumb need skin skin. :rotfl:
That piece of equipment is the FuMO 29 radar antenna. You should see where it ends up on the type VII u-boats when the antenna rotation mod is used.
The mind boggles!!
@ GT182, if you mean the first one it is one of Furbars:

The second is GWX!
