There seems to be a very glaring and unfortunate bug in sh4, along with many others. But this one really takes away from the game. The bug is, no offers, or capabilities of updating your current boat's conning tower. So you get stuck on a boat in 42 with the tower of a prewar boat. In my case a S boat with no anti aircraft capabilities.
I followed the suggestions given on the other topic area, but unfortunately this only works when taking on a new career. I would like to update my boat of my current career.
Can any one here tell me what files control the current boat the player is using. I have tried modifying the file Current user player unit.upc, or something like that, with no luck.
I tried just removing the sconning_01 tower files and replace them with a copy of the type 2 tower but renamed 01, but that just ends up having an inoperative flack gun.
I have heard this is a result of patch 1.2, but have also heard this is just a plain broken feature of the game.
Can someone here address, and correct this really stupid mistake on the part of UBI. I will try what I can, but I don't know the files as well as most modders here.
