What do you mean by format?

Here's a link to a pack of over 150 wartime tracks...the format is the type of file it is recorded in ie: mp3.
Unpack the file into your gramaphone folder.
If they won't play....and they should, I can post a link to a boat load of ogg vorbis format WWII songs (the same format as used in the gramaphone golder in GWX)

It wouldn't hurt my feelings if you still put up that link you mentioned.

I am in the process of changing all above mentioned files into OGG files and by changing the names(editing out the singers name and adding a letter or 2 here and there) It will sound like you are listening to some tunes and then a radio broadcast will kick in. Its all in german but it helps with the immersion factor.

Can you use your own music in this gramaphone ingame?

yup but stick to OGG format seems to be less problematic from what I understand but I may be corrected.

You will find that most all gramaphone files play at a much lower volume in the sim, so you may have to turn up your speaker volume to hear them.

There is no limit as each track is played one at a time and the list isn't stored anywhere other than as the file list in your folder.

I've got over 5000 tracks in mine.

Is there a simple way to randomize the gramophone records being played? Its just that everytime I start the gramophone the songs are played in the same sequence.

Within the game itself... no.

However, IIRC Sh3 Commander lets you randomize music files.

Jumping on an old thread... is there an active link to a collection of gramophone tunes? I've been unable to register on Terrapin's DLC to find any of the ones there.

Use SH3CMDR to randomize your gramophone tracts. If the volume of the files is too low, use MP3Gain to balance them. If the files are ogg, convert them to mp3, balance them and then reconvert them to ogg if you want. I have found that mp3 work just as well, and that a mixture of ogg and mp3 work fine.
U boat sim has a whole section of music for SH3.

Irish, what exactly is mp3gain, never heard of it. My gramaphone volume is so low it's barely audible and I've given up even attempting to listen anymore, this would surely help...I think.

Another option is Windows Sound Recorder on your PC in accessories/entertainment.
Go to EFFECTS/INCREASE VOLUME then FILE/SAVE

Hemisent,
It is a wonderful program to ballance the volume of mp3 files. You can set them to any volume you want.
