Hi, All.
I have solved the problem of wrong drop down of torpedos by US Torpedo Bomber.
Look info: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=112061
Now torpedos are droped correctly and percent of hits is very big.
You can D/L mod from my FF page (SH4 --> SH4ver13 folder, Fix_USTorpBomber.7z file).

P.S. Sorry, guys. I have forgotten to write the reason ... amun_AirTorpedo controller does not work correctly, if the torpedo is inside 3D object (for example inside of plane fuselage).

Ooooo....spiffy! Where is the texture for this torp? Kinda looks like the sub version vice torp a/c version.

Data\Library\ folder, Torpedo_Air_US.dat file!!!

I hate it when the names of textures represent what they are actually for.....
Here I was looking for Plane_tube_blower_upper.dds

Textures are placed in Data\Textures\TNormal\tex folder,
Torpedo.dds and Torpedo_Selfillum.dds files.

Another great fix man - may have to try the Midway mission just to see these babies in action (assuming that they actually used these torpedo bombers in that mission - the only other time I played it, all I saw were a bunch of dive-bombing Lancasters - too funny) :rotfl:

I was thinking these guys were trying to do the same job as the american torpedo bomber but just couldnt seem to get the hang of it...

I was above Raboul and reported a convoy on my way back to Brisbaine and was told to break off that other assets would be used well 3 min lator a wave of our BOYS came in and torpedoed the ships but I stuck around because some of the planes were shot down and I picked up the survivors. but anyways the torpedo's were dead on so you did a great job!!!

Why is it that in SH4 you can't use < > keys to see planes like you can in SH-3 ?

This is good news for any surface mods-so far when I was driving the Bismarck around planes were laughable as a credible threat, but with something like this (applied to things like the Kate as well), you'll have to take them seriously.

well i must ask you to forgive me, i mixed this mod up with another torpedo bomber mod and that was my confusion. (i think it was inaccurate japanese torpedo bombers)

i will add this mod to the list to be included into my "game fixes only" mod.

EDIT: this is the mod i was talking about, it wasnt needed for v1.5 because they fixed it.

What is it that makes a plane drop a torpedo?

I can put air-dropped fish on boats, but never got them to fire...

I actually built boats that were aircraft, too, and they stayed on the water properly, followed waypoints, but didn't drop the fish (I took a Kate, and pointed it at the 3d model of a PT boat).

Seems like there has to be a way to make AI "ships" that use fish, even if just PT boats...

Yes ... But you must to change torpedo's angle of diving (from 33°) to 15° ... 18° ... or to use my mod AirTorpedoSim.7z ...

Thank you very much for this fix, torp attacks were a major aspect of ariel trianing for some navies and it was essential for IJN doctrine to be correnct and historic. much appreciated.

That's right!

I knew it was a big, ugly beast, and so I instantly thought Helldiver. Should've looked at the model before I posted, the vindicator has that characteristic change in wing dihedral (sorta like the SBD does).

SB2U was because of Ubi screwing the pooch with il-2's box art, so they dumped anything that NG (or any of the myriad companies it owns) would get in their face. So quickly we forget.
