Thanks!

I kept asking myself why the damage model wasn't fixed even if I had applied patch 1.2!

Will try your way!

Can you elaborate a bit more?, what's the actual difference you found by fully reinstalling and just upgrading?

I did all that when I dowloaded the patch and I still still can't fix my AA guns.

Well ... i am not sure if to talk about fixed.

Almost the damage model has chnaged, Hit Points and flooding times was increased in V1.2 but some problems still present.

Uncontrolable sink is still present but runs fine now.
I was able to control up to 5 "uncontrolable" sinks, teh crew recover the sub, controls the sinks and recover the asigned depth, up to 5 times. in the "uncontrolabel sink" number 6 my crew loss control and asigned depth can not recovered any more and sub dive up to it crushed.

So good... almost we have some chance to recover the sub.

But there are some problems as the crew taking damage on AAA and Deck Gun Stations when submerged.
It seems the game assume they are on this battlestations when there is deck damage even when the sub is submerged.

May be this happens because we have not a Rest Room where the deck crew is automatically moved when you dive as in SH III.

I solved it moving manually my AAA and deck gun crew into the sub prior to dive or prior of any depth charge attack.

Runs better after patch...

I have experienced AA crew getting hurt on the surface when the AA gun has been damaged but the crew aren't on station.

I have had more than one case of a non-repairable but only slightly damaged deck gun.

I haven't had an issue with being unable to repair the AA guns but a number of posters have reported it so I have listed it in my rather long but thrilling (OK ok not thrilling) bug list.

By the way - I could do with all the feedback I can get, latest version of the list here:

I'm tired of this guy. He posts things like this, with no punctuation, and never replies. Makes me take it all with a grain of salt

It was fixed with 1.2 patch... without the need to reinstall the game from scratch.

The only thing that remains "unfix" is the "damage control" that still gets damage and never gets fixed unless you dock. However with 1.2 my game doesn't show the same "glitches" like it shown on 1.1 with crew dying on their stations without any reason.

Other "unfix" thing is the hidden damage that for example if you get some DD bangs in your hull and even if you manage to survive at surfice the engines die even when they are repaired and if u go under 22m you sunk like a rock without chances.

Well i dont think theres any denying that the damage model was adjusted. As to it being, "fixed" depends on your point of view i guess. Personally i totall uninstalled and reinstalled for patch 1.2 to be sure i didnt have any residual artifacts from 1.1 or any mods.

This "solution" has no usefulness in the real world. Just install the patch and everything will be fine without jumping through all those hoops.

if you have 4 holes in your boant and you are diving, i wouldn't call that a fix at all

If you have four holes in your boat, you should not be diving in the first place!!!

>>What does RESTARTING your computer over and over have to do with anything?

RAM flush.

Agreed. Sh3 spoiled us in this regard. THe reality is a single hole = no diving.

I don't know if anyone else had this problem, when I installed the v1.2 patch I currently had only one file that wasn't an original v1.0 or v1.1 ... and that was when I was working on the radar, the Sensors_sub_US.sim file. It was dated something like April 10th. Well, after I installed the v1.2 patch, it never replaced that SIM file. I never had the original, which was dated back in febuary so I uninstalled the whole game (to makes sure I had all originals), then reinstalled v1.0 and updated with v1.2. Then it worked.

Appears if the file was dated after v1.0 or v1.1 it never updated it. I don't know if JSGE changes the dates on the original files, I dunno. Might be the same problem with other files.

>>What does RESTARTING your computer over and over have to do with anything?

RAM flush.

Nah, RAM flush wouldn't make a difference. Unless they use some kind of shared memory between the game and the patcher which remains active after the game has been closed.. That would be a memory leak in itself.

It is possible that some kind of service does not come into effect until Windows is restarted after the game is installed, but I seriously doubt that as well. If an installer asks for a restart, you can generally just ignore it unless you're dealing with a Virus scanner or any other deeply embedded programs.

If the original poster is right, the devs need to overhaul their patching system, because I have no other game ever require this many restarts between patching without explicitly asking for it.

I did all that when I dowloaded the patch and I still still can't fix my AA guns.

Have you tried manning the deck gun/AA gun? You need to man the gun in order to fix the last bits of damage (i.e. when the damage is 0.05 or there about). The damage control crew will not fix this damage.

Well after many attempts at trying to repair the final bit of my deck gun.. Manning the gun (for quite awhile - hours in fact) worked!?!

How did you know you need to do this?

Damn another update to my buglist :(

I discovered it when I noticed that some lightly damaged components in compartments get repaired by the crew. It only stood to reason that a lightly damaged deck gun/AA gun might also be repaired by the crew. I'm not exactly sure why the DC team won't complete the repair...perhaps they have more important things to do, like polishing brass or flemishing mooring lines.
