Anyone know of any tweak files or other method of editing sub's propulsion/ship files to go from max speed to dead in the water as fast as possible. In other words I want inertia removed from my sub speed. I want to be able to go from top speed to 0 knots in only a couple of seconds.
I've been trying all sorts of values on the drag factors of the boat but with no luck.

I've pulled it off flying into a port retaining wall at 8000x time compression a few times. Other than that...I out of ideas.

Well see it was possible in sh3, without editing any drag factors, if you edited the boats speed, it would stop quickly it would go from 80 knots to 10-12 knots in less time than it takes you to go from 50-45 now.

That's the whole point and fun of driving a craft on the water -NO Brakes.
I suggest, Emerg reverse, crash dive, hit A key (patchV1.2) as soon as you start diving and level off at 20 feet. -should provide enough drag. or...edit your subs .sim and zon files to provide more horsepower.

Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves. First of all, can a dime even be modelled in SH4? Hmmm?
I want a shark skin for my Gato---and a frickin' laser for a deck gun!

While in development, we'll call this project Preparation F. During testing we'll call it Preparation G. And when it goes gold . . . well, you get the picture. Ishn't that veird?

Anyone that hasn't already popped up from the peanut gallery know of an answer? Power doesn't help.

A 1,500-2,500 ton submarine IS NOT MEANT TO STOP ON A DIME, why would you want it to be SO unrealistic?????

And will it float so I can stop on it :hmm::hmm::hmm:

I apologize, I was wrong, given a high enough number string that does work. Thank you.
Now; main reason is due to my job; I don't have a lot of time to play games, especially one in which played completely realistically would take about half the time as it would in real life. I enjoy these sub games, I have for a while. I'd like to get as much enjoyment out of it as possible in what little time I do have to play, so I'd rather not spend 2 hours to only get a chance to sink one ship. The consequence of throwing up the speed on the boat without increasing it's breaking ability was making it also rather non enjoyable for my schedule.

welks. I suggest using time compression and save before engagements. But you're missing-out on the thrill of the hunt. Kinda like skipping chapters on the dvd to get Midway in in 30 minutes. :nope:
