View Full Version : [REQ] Question about bottom plants
Can the plants, and or boulders on the sea bottom be reduced in size? Some of those plants and boulders must be nearly a 50 feet tall with the appearance of being pond vegetation. I think reducing thier size by 75% would be great for scaled appearance.
I love the rocky bottom around coming out of Dutch Harbor but the plants kind of make it look like an aquarium.

It is kind of funny they don't have collision detection. The first time I was sneaking into a port, I was really sweating it. Very, very relieved to see they didn't collide -- even if it was a bit unrealistic.

Yup... but on the other hand..they are not rocks, they are small MOUNTIANS! or HILLS...like I said "its and alien world" down there, and I think "Hartmann" has given us the 100% perfect lead here. Its all in those files, now we only need to do a tweak file (something i have never done) + I am off to bed. Passing the ball back to you guys.
I give U a small hint...

I would remove the plants all together. Large marine plants don't really live much deeper than a few hundred feet with the vast majority much shallower, which represents a very, very tiny portion of the overall sea floor.
Sea "plants" only really exist in the first 30 feet. Very few would be any deeper and not by much. The sunlight just doesn't penetrate well enough. Coral's can be found down to a 100 feet or so.

You've got a great idea for a mod!
While you're decorating that aquarium, please throw in a few fish and some crustaceans too. :D

Believe it or not, some giant kelp can grow more than 150 ft. tall! But that is the exception. Corals can live much deeper.
