I think so not... those are the Hartmann tweaks wich removes plancton, rocks, plants, and fog.

I think so he dont made a mod, he wrote instruction about how to do it erasing or renaming some files. But not remember where.....

Regarding this mod...
The big advantage the 30M has over the 60M, is the 'draw in' problem. With the clearer 60m, you can se the rock and plant objects magically appear which is a major problem (read...'immersion killer').
The 30m seems just about right to conceal the draw in.
Has anyone found the file that controls the draw in distance so that it could be increased to accommodate the 60m version?

Recover of good underwater visibility, to back it to stock setting or to improve it beyond this point.
Open the file scene.dat with an Hexagecimal Editor and modify the following lines

Yes... that is the data to mod SH III....
But basically it is the same for SH4.... the blue numbers may be diferent, and many more, but you must to search the file for the text.... and numbers.... (use Hexeditor search engine)
In example.... from (-3) to (-4)
00 00 80 C0 00 @@....Fog....A.
to
00 00 40 C0 00 @@....Fog...@A.
Or in example... from (18 m) to (21 m) .....
00 00 90 41 00 ..A.PF<....UpLight
to

You can use the value you want... 21, 30, 40...
(remember to input the numbers in inverse order into the hexadecimal converters...)

Yes... as Mav87th wrote, it is a little bit more easy using MiniTweaker, but i have not the correct template, but may be it there around...
I use the original SH III method, (Hexeditor) when MiniTweaker was not developed yet....

Try this versio of the scene.dat tweakefile. I added the underwater "fog-start" and "fog-end" values in this tweakfile.

Patch v1.3 did not touched the scene.dat file. It is a remain from older patchs (v1.1 or v1.2).
Just reinstall the mod, it must to works fine.

This is one of the few mods that I do actually use from around here, it's very handy and kudos to you for this one! :rock:
Not much point in having all this juicy eyecandy if you can't see squat from 15 meters away!

Here's what i'd like to see. A new scene.dat file that extends the underwater view range properly to 60 feet. Plus. No green plankton everywhere. Both are just minor preferances a lot of us can use to just get that bit more enjoyment out of the game.
I use the smaller weeds and rocks MOD. We have to have some bottom details or else everything would be barren.

There was a way to remove them, without to touch the scene.cfg file.

Filefront is being a fricking dud. Can't get at "improved underwater visibility 2". :damn:
I suggest all MODDERS put their SH4 1.3 compatible files on at least two seperate file server websites.
It really is a :damn: to have to be stopped from putting together a set of MODS just because one file server is down.

Here you have a manual editing guide... i reccomend to you to merge it with the Living Seas Mod from leoVampire...

Thank you for the manual entry data. I wanted to use your mod but it conflicted with others. I added this and leovampire's Living Breathing Ocean to the modded scene.dat file. Now to give it a test run.

I tried to remove the placton, rocks and plant but keep the distortion.
If I delet/rename/move these files the water is not transparent anymore. It creates a bug and visibilty under water is 0.
I tried it with a stock SH4 v1.4.
Someone can help me with this or is there another mod for this?

Could someone update the link or upload the file to Subsim? I'd really like to try the mod without having to manually use a hex editor.
