View Full Version : Qw: Problem importing .obj in 3dsmax...

Ok, this is driving me nuts... I´m using max 8. I got the obj from the .dat file of the Yamato (actually a bunch of .obj... but I´m working on the principal one). The problem is that some faces are fliped and some are not, so I can´t just flip/unflip the whole object and fliping poly by poly is near impossible (18000 polys)

What am I doing wrong? Is there any plug-in to import the files of this game? Am I missing something?

In poly or mesh sub-object mode select by element to grab all the "flipped" areas
then flip, them back. still a pain, but much faster than selecting face by face.:up:

Thanks! Actually I was doing something wrong in the import .obj properties: I had the "Unify" box checked for normals. Now all polys are facing the same side :up:
