View Full Version : Alright! Who's Manning The Radar?
It's such a lag on TC to pull into Midway or any populated port with the radar operator calling out every contact he can get his scope on. I turned it off manually & put all the sensor guys on damage control thinking this would help, but some mysterious crew member continues to rattle off contacts like a crazy person. I dont want to adjust the TC settings for fear of aircraft attack at sea. Anyone had any luck turning it off? :damn:

Assume you're referring to SJ radar? I get the same with SD, even though it shouldn't detect ships. At least that will be fixed in 1.2. Can't turn it off at all.....
Agree with you, it's a pain..... :damn: :damn: :damn:

It would be really nice if TC would not drop for "friendly" contacts.
Im about to wear out my numpad + button.

Well I don't think they had "friend/foe" capability on their radar.....would kind of ruin the suspense when you get a radar contact! Having said that, I know what you mean.

True....
Well then give us an option to toggle TC stop on / off.
Id love to turn this off when approaching wake or pearl or any friendly base for that matter.
It can take longer to approach for a refit than it does to sail clear accross the pacific.

I think Payoff has it right....the issue is not being able to turn the radar off. If we could do that we'd greatly reduce the problem.
I try to plot my return course so that I'm coming into Midway to refit at 91+ degrees and then onto Pearl in a southerly heading, turning toward north as close to port as possible.
Using that radar bug to my advantage:up:
But an on/off switch would be nice.
