I keep suffering a CTD when I have burning ships in the game. I recently upgraded the computer, thinking that my video card was the problem.
Currently I have:
3.06 GHz P IV
1.5 GHz RAM
512 MB ATI Radeon X1650? (I will have to double check on the chipset when I get home)
I had the same problem before, and I thought it was my video card, as it was originally a 256 PCI card w/o a fan.
Upgraded the computer with a new mother board to get the PCI-E slot, and added another Gig of RAM just for sh*ts and giggles. Video card also has a fan.
I'm not at home, so I can't export my complete mod list, but I feel pretty confident that none of the extra mods I have are affecting the graphics capability of the game.
Also, prior to upgrading the computer, I was having the same problem. I tied it directly to NYGM by taking all of the other mods off during a burning ship situation, and it still crashed. So, although I haven't actually "tested" it, I see no reason to assume that I am incorrect in my assumption.
This game is the entire reason that I upgraded my computer. Is there anything that can be done to fix this? What could it possibly be?
