View Full Version : An Open Letter to Gizzmoe

Dear Mr Gizzmoe, I have been hanging around at subsim making
a pain of myself for almost six months now, I would like to take
this opportunity as a recent newcomer to make an observation.
When exploring subsim and the sh3 forums initially it can be a
convoluted process to get up to speed find out whats current
find out what are known and not know issues, in sh3 forums
as a result of the barley contained chaos of years it can be
hard and confusing getting up to speed. as a result many
senior posters on sh3 forums regularily field questions repeated
many times by many players over and over and over.
Now there will always be those that wont read for themselves
that much is recognized but for those who would educate them
selves you sir have contributed much on the sh4 forums to
alleviate that problem as best you can,
it is like you looked very carefully at what was not working about
sh3 forums, and applied the theory an ounce of preventions worth
a pound of cure.
well done Your efforts though considerable have a huge impact already
when we discuss problems and issues with sh4 it takes no time
to determine if its known or unknown and if there is or isnt a working
solution.
the organized approach you have taken to forum set up shows a remarkable
insight into the nature of the problems, further though you have been
to your credit friendly and helpful and in conflict situations assertive
while still being diplomatic.
Kudos to you Gizzmoe you have been nothing short of Fantastic
as a moderator and I feel its time someone stepped up and observed
just what a tremendous job youve done, this isnt to say
that other moderators dont do a great Job most Ive tt have
a very helpful and fatherly approach I feel that in the event
Neals selection process for moderators is good and the moderators
enjoy a very high average of competence,
its just that as Ive sat here and watched the sh4 show for the
last month Ive noticed a star on the stage but out of spotlight
dont blush youve earned a little Kudos.
I dont know if you are or arent eligible for Skipper o the month
but man in my opinion You should win by the first unanimous vote
in subsim history
thank you for making it so much easier for all us
ingrates.
Regards Gizzmoe you are the best.

Fair, consistent , well-organized, the list can go on here. Things have been hectic since SH4 arrived, also with GWX as well, lots of new faces but Gizzmoe has kept up with the initial chaos, kept this place on track.

I suppose it would look like that but im not really playing sh4 in ernest
yet so I dont know what id have to gain, however I will just say
that the smooch for gizzmoe is overdue and someone had to say it.
It has to be disheartening to make that kind of effort and have it
get integrated by everone but unoticed by most.

unconventional around here but dont we deal in unconventional warfare
As a product of good parents Im proud of it. I dont really think
the jibes hurt me. Nor do I take any offense at them I personally
love humour and sparring with it against unarmed opponents.
Try to get a moderator to tell me off for thanking them and recognizing their efforts. Ill be over working on my boat in the meantime.

Thanks for the kind words, guys! :) Running a busy forum successfully is really a team effort, without a team of good moderators and a great admin () this place would be very chaotic. So the praise should really go to the whole team. :yep:

Humor has its limits, someone who has already got a final warning should be a bit more careful with what he posts.

The Moderators do a good job, and deserve our support. We may not like there decisons now and again, but they do have to keep the forum going in the right direction and keep it a place where people can share their experiences and knowledge of subsims and history, not somewhere people can flame others.:yep:
Keep up the good work guys (and girls, if any are moderators!)

Not one for jumping band wagons, especially the "well done old chap" band wagons, but in this case i'll make an exception because I love these forums. I'm not even a big forum fan to be honest, but these forums (and WolvesAtWar.org) are sweet
Intelligent people, for the most part anyway. Good debates/discussions. Good level of maturity of posts. And, of course, great moderation all round.
So this is a "well done old chap" post dedicated to everyone (even Dowly :D). Cos without all of you, these forums just wouldn't be the same. :yep:
Cheers.....

Getting back on track w/ this thread.
Thanks to Gizzmo for the AWESOME Mod List thread. It would take someone more than a week to sort through all of the mods released so far for SH4.
Gizzmo's thread cuts that down to about 12 hours!!
(cause there's so many worthy mods ;) )
