View Full Version : Is there a utility out there that can randomly assign names to files?

Is there anything out there that can randomly assign names to files in a folder like SH3 Commander did for the gramophone files? It would be okay if it was just something that ran in the background and responded to hot-key commands.

Would this work out for you? Found it in roughly 30 seconds of googling...:know:

For image files i would use Irfanview. For files and mp3's the URL above looks promising... Never had the need for it.

Heh heh, your link is for a limited time demo so I'll go ahead and look some more. I tried another one which was free but I couldn't figure out how to randomize . . . no matter how it renamed the files, the songs in the Gramophone were still in the same order.
