View Full Version : mini tweaker flak gun help

Though it's probably somewhere, I looked through the archives and couldn't find the answer. I haven't used mini tweaker for a while and want to increase the power of the flak guns. I assume I should use shells.zon and/or shells.sim? I tried to load those files in mini tweaker by setting the alternate game folder to \games\WAC\data\library, but got "path=file does not exist," even though they are in the folder. What am I doing wrong? Thx.

Not sure I was using that method yesterday to do final tweaks
on Uber2.0beta without loading it all into the game, and
the alternative folder worked fine using just the mod folder
on my desktop without a game data folder,

Shells will increase hitting power
sim and zone the first seems to govern force and power
the second seems to cover blast radius of the shell

are you doing the guns as well I have much experience
and good advice on feel and smoothing out the shooting
a bit to (less recoil better control for human)

It should default naturally to your main sh3 install why
pick the alt folder method different install?

Duh! I figured out what was wrong-- all I needed to do was set the alternate game folder to program files\games\WAC instead of program files\games\WAC\data\library! I was doing more than the program required. :damn:

Now, the question is: I assume the 20mm and 37mm files are flak guns? And what are spdr_AA_shells?

Do I increase both MinEF and MaxEF and MinRadius and MaxRadius? Thanks! :D

sorry im late I thought you left for the morning

yes to all on min effect max effect etc.

I do this by percentages that is to say that when
I did guns for Frankenboot I didnt give it laser turrets
what I did was looked up other guns further down the
list and approximated the power of a 5" for 88 and 6" for
105 a nice well reasoned power level good hitter but
no automatic kills you still have to use it like a gunner.

spdr_AA_shells? oddly I dont have a match for this ??????????

Yeah the 20mm and 37 mm are AA shell sizes, I used the mini tweaker to allow those shells to have someting like Depleted Uranium in them, i aimed them at a large cargo ship a few 100 yards away and shot one round and the thing sinks, the blast even damaged my sub. I've learned alot about the mini tweaker,

They are in my shells_zon.txt, #47 thru #49.

Its a typo maybe

I think your looking at an AI shell for the RN and Commonwealth
units, Two pounder Pompom in context it should read

2pdrAA have another look its not used by your sub
so your giving it to our cousins in Luftwaffe when
you boost.
