Well, after further testing it seems that I have run into a problem. But I will see if I can fix it. Not sure if this will work.

Probably deals with the 1024_768.ini file. My modding aims as so far have been much less ambitious. IE, just trying to get the doors to open faster instead of a 7-9 second delay after you give the command to open the outer doors. That's so frustrating. Particuarlly since crew rating and/or calling battle stations seems to have no effect on the time it takes to open the outer doors.

I miss the option we had in SHIII where you could take the position from the WO from within the command room and manually open them all yourself by flicking all switches. After that it was a matter of getting back behind the periscope and fire away.

I hope that a patch one day 'fixes' the click-a-billity of the subs a bit as I really liked that.

You mean like this? :p Notice I have a Dual Salvo, doors number 1 and 3 at same time. I still must hit 'Fire' select each torp individually, that took me about two seconds to select and fire, but no delay waiting for doors to open:cool: . Last picture shows they are very close. Too slow to catch them coming out of tubes.

Needs more work though ...but it does work. Someone could clean this up better.

Use W to go from tube 1 or 3 to fire, (not the normal in game mouse select; keyboard only!)

The doors will stay open until torps are fired. Probably want to use another key than "Comma" -default in game is external view.

I'd have a go if I new the codes for keys. I guess the number pad would be a good place to start for torpedo door numbers. 1-9 and another key as the door toggle.
